leafy bud vs fully manicured

Any thoughts on this? What are your preferences ? Ever notice a taste difference?

When I trim my bud I usually leave a little leaf material on. Not alot. The main reason being that the leaves I leave on tend to have alot of trics on them. When dried and cured they end up looking like they are coated in sugar.


This weekend I was looking at some commerical grade stuff that was trimmed up pretty tight. There was little to no leafy material left on them, and they were not as coated with trics the way I leave mine.

Ive gotten some flak for mine based on appearence, but not on the taste and high. It just seems that some people prefer the appearence of highly manicured buds, even if they have less trics...

i prefer leafy buds because untrimmed buds just taste a lot better(after removing the leaves before consuming)

But when buying i want them trimmed , but i never ever buy so

i prefer to trim mine tight but i also make hash with my trim so its not wasted or anything

I've noticed that the trichs on the sugarleaves are much thicker on the bottom third of the leaf,closest to the stem.I normally do this and cut as much as half of the lengths of the sugarleaves

The only reason to manicure buds is so that it's ready to smoke sooner. Cure your unmanicured buds correctly and you'll find little difference in taste. It just takes longer to get the leaf cured properly.
