SOIL:

How long has this problem been going on? About two weeks
What STRAIN are you growing? Bog's Sour Bubble
What was the establishing technique? (seed or clone?) Seed
What is the age of your plants? Approximately three and a half months
How long have they been in the soil mixture they are in now? About two and a half months
Were they in the same mixture when they were seedlings/smaller plant? Yes
How Tall are the plants?About 2.5' from the surface of soil
What PHASE (seedling, vegetative or flower) are the plants in? Flower, about 18 days in
What Technique are you using? (SOG, SCROG etc) Nothing
What size pots are you using? (Include how many subjects to pot)Three gallon pots, 1 plant per pot
What substrate/medium are you using? What brand of soil mixture are you using?(percentage of perlite, vermiculite...etc?)I'm using LC's#1 mix (Spag peat moss, perlite, EWC at 5:3:2 respectively, with 2TBS dolomite lime per gallon
What brand Nutrient's are you using? Sunleaves Guano, Maxicrop kelp, Grandmothers molasses (looking for sodiumless substitute) and
How much of each nutrient are you using with how much water? For flower, I make one to two gallons of tea, brewed for ~ 24-50 hours, with 6tsp of guanos per gallon [PSB(10-10-2), Indonesian(0.5-12-0.2)], 1 tsp kelp(1-0-4) per gallon, and 1tsp molasses per gallon.
How often are you feeding? Every third watering.
If flowering, when did you switch over to using Bloom nutrients? I did 50/50 veg/flwr tea the first feed after four days flower, then did all flower tea at about 10 days flower.
What order are you mixing your nutrients? (example: veg nutes 1st, bloom 2nd ect) I put them all in a strainer, put in bucket, drop molasses in bucket, add water, then bubble
What is the TDS/EC/PPM of your nutrients used? Is this applicable in organics?
What is the pH of the "RUN-OFF"? 6.9
How often are you testing pH/ppm/EC/TDS? Second time testing pH. First time was about a month ago and it was 6.8
What method of pH test was administered? Using Strips? pH pen? Milwaukee pH pen, calibrated a couple months ago, didn't really need it.
How often are you watering?Every other day
When was your last feeding and how often are you feeding? About five or six days ago.
What size bulb are you using? 600Watt HPS
How old is your bulbs? Brand new (about 14 days)
What is the distance to the canopy? About 8", using an aircooled hood. I ran into a height issue.
What is your RH Factor? (Relative Humidity) 35-45% on ave.
What is the canopy temperature?80-86 day(Can't use an A/C right now, and its hot some days, but doesn't go over 86, and is usually about 83)
What is the Day/Night Temp? (Include fluctuation range) night:usually 67-75. So it fluctuates about 13-15 deg on average.
What is the current Air Flow? (cfm etc.) I have a vortex 6" at ~ 450CFM through a 6" aircooled hood.
Tell us about your ventilation, intake exhaust and when its running and not running ? running 24/7 right now, passive intake from my room, exhausts outside.
Is the fan blowing directly at plants? For one plant yes.
Is the grow substrate constantly wet or moist? No, it dries out quite a bit, but I dont let it get bone dry.
Is your water HARD or SOFT? Starts Hard (~250ppm) but I use an RO filter so then 0ppm
What water are you using? Reverse Osmosis (RO)? Tap?Bottled? Well water? Distilled? Mineral Water? RO from tap
Are you using water from a water softener? no
Has plant been recently pruned, cloned or pinched? I pinched one of them (Sour bubble 1), you'll see
Have any pest chemicals been used? If so what and when? Organicide about three weeks ago, and Captain Jacks deadbug brew about two weeks ago.
Are plant's infected with pest's? They had thrips, but not for long and not anymore.

This is Sour Bubble #1. The top growth went off color within a few days of adding the HPS. They were under 2x 250w MH aircooled lights, now under 1HPS. She is directly under the bulb.

Is this a Mag/Nitrogen deficiency?

Phos deficiency?

Calcium deficiency?

Here is Sour Bubble #3. Top growth looks relatively fine to me... (all comments appreciated)

?? That burning part just looks odd to me..

This is a leaf that has been sucked dry and I would care about it normally but it looks more crispy/burned then normal.

Another shot of top growth.

I'm thinking they might be rootbound, but I'm putting the regimen out there for some people to spot any red flags or anything. I've run this before with other strains without a hitch.

The droopy leaves look like over watering, you may want to let the soil dry out for a few days, see if the plant gets better. If that worries you, just water with 1/2 the volume of solution that you have been, but on the same schedule.

I can clearly see Iron, Potassium, and Nitrogen deficiencies, even some Calcium, but I don't see any Mg deficiencies. Up your micro solution, or see what organic supplements you can use to boost those minerals.

Hmm, well I know its not overwatering. They may look like that because I was watering enough to get run off at the time of the pics (to test pH). But I definitely let them dry out.

So you dont think it's toxicity/burn?

I thought I had a Mg deficiency because of the green veins/inner leaf with yellowish outer rim. I'll have to look into Iron and pottasium. I also want to make sure its not rootbound because I dont know if adding more nutes helps in that situation.

EDIT: I think you may see the possible Iron deficiency in the first pic, but I find that doubtful unless it can be caused by excessive light because that plant is directly under the bulb, and it started happening within days (2, or 3) of putting that bulb in. Plus, all the other plants ( I have eight in total) are getting the exact same treatment and none show that sign at all, to any degree.

Also, I think the possible Mg deficiency in the second picture might be masked by Nitrogen deficiency (or normal use of N from the leaf during flower).

Yea...I agree that the one pic is Mag-Def. The green veins with everything else yellowing is highly characteristic of that.

Two things, that I can think of. One, if Mag/Cal levels are off, they can set off a whole chain of events and deficiencies. I don't see any toxicity signs anywhere, so the two things I would check are run-off and how well you are meeting the Cal/Mag needs of your plant. It looks like it's probably like week 6 from clone (total), or week 11 or so from seed. Mag defs are common in week 2.

The other thing I thought of that causes myriad deficiencies is what you touched on above-- root bound plants. I'm a hydro grower, so I'll admit to having some gaps in my knowledge in this area, but it looks to me like the problem is with nutrient uptake as a whole, rather than a problem with the nutrients you are adding. Mg and P are used in huge amounts around wk 2-3 of flower, and that extra crispy leaf is telling me that the plant is not getting all of the nutrients that it needs, so is sucking it from its' reserves.

Unfortunately, I don't feel very helpful with this post, so my best advice is akin to when tech support tells you to reboot and try again. I'd transplant, flush, and after adding nutrients, check your pH.

Ok. Yeah I could see that happening. Maybe I'll try using some epsom salts, or maybe I should water with molasses every time, even if I dont feed. and thanks for confirming its not toxicity.
