I broke my finger today when a ballast fell on it smashed it into concrete. My friend reported today in this same day that a reflector (cool tube) fell on his head luckly he is hard headed and was not injured. me on the other hand not so lucky, i have never been in so much pain in my life. it was nauseating and i passed out! not pleasant!

have you ever had or heard of anyone with grow related injury?

Been stung by nettles running through patches to my outdoor spot, stung by wasps. I also had to tape the wire from an enviro in an improvised veg room, when i went to cut the tape off to get the light down i cut into my thumb. I burned my arm on a hot reflector.

Shouldnt smoke really when theres work to be done but fuck it ha ha

Silverback n more

Silverback was climbing down to the patch n had a heart attack. Was found at the bottom of the cliff. That counts right?? R.I.P SILVERBACK.

I had to go out to the patch one night in Hawaii cause rippers were there that day and move my plants. It was new moon and i did not have a flashlight, too risky. I fell all over the place on the lava rocks and cut myself up good n plenty. Was bleedin like a stuck pig. Was so tired when i was done, I passed out without cleaning my cuts really good, woke up with a full blown staph infection. Life sucked for the next month. I mean painful. i STILL HAVE THE SCARS,LOL

Snakebit. A copperhead, shedding and pissed.

I was going to my plants, stepped over a small ledge and Whack!- an ice pick got jammed in my calf. There are lots of copperheads and rattlers here so im used to snakes, but for people to say " dont panic" is pure bullshit! I was 1/2 mile from my car and 10 miles from town! My heart was pounding like a sledgehammer.

By the time i reached civilization, i couldnt hardly breath or see and the calf of my leg was bigger than top part of my leg. I pulled over at the first convienience store on my way home and they called an ambulance. Thank god for antivenom.

fucking a man, i was watching a show the other day about a guy who got bit on his hand and nearly lost his hand from the swelling and tearing and flesh eating bacteria! i hate snakes!

my finger injury is being a pain in my ass when it comes to watering the plants outdoors i had to have my friend do it since i cant haul 5 gal jugs around right now, also im getting my indoor grow room setup finally so i was wanting to help do the construction luckly my friend is also a craftsman so we should have got it taken care of by the end of the day. ( for pics check my 6600w grow thread)

Damn!! That sucks man. I had the image in my head and it made me cringe and almost gag. I can't even fathom the pain. *shiver*

One time I was downstairs in this house my friend and I used to grow. I was making a sandwich, he (6'4", ~270lb) was working upstairs when all of a sudden I heard a woman scream, more like shriek. It was almost blood curdling. I couldn't tell where it came from so I ran to the door and peeked outside first. Then I heard running upstairs. I start for the stairs when I see my buddy almost falling down the stairs gripping his arm screaming for aloe lotion. I was like wtf? Turns out he stretched his arms in the wrong spot and got burned by an exposed 1K hortilux. Pretty bad burn, and good laughs later :p

i've had loads. My fave is taking the cages off of oscilating fans to reduce noise- then putting a hand/leg/head etc into the path of the, then invisible, rotating blades. The worst one was a couple of years ago-i was wearing rubber gloves, it hurt like hell but I carried on watering until my hand felt wet-I thought that it was sweat or nutes that had got in-until the blood started squishing out of the top of the glove like in a horror film.
Chemical burns-get some ph down or H2O2-get it on your fingers then inadvertantly rub it onto some other part of the body/limbs/head and wait a few minutes-thats a standard

I bent over to get a good look at my girls didn't pay attention that the light mover was overhead, stood up and caught the corner of the reflector in the head! nice little dent

Most of y'all need hazardous pay. I got this painful catch in my neck after dozing at the computer, after smoking a half a joint, after reading up on cloning techniques. By the time I took the first cut I was in enough pain for the other half a spliff.

electric shocks-an 18stone friend of mine took 80amps-hit the ceiling then hit the floor. He was fine the next day.
then there are the freak accidents like the guy who toppled backwards down the stairs with his growdrobe which pinned him by the neck so that he was slowly suffocating on tip toes until, luckily, a relative found him and got him down.

Cuts and scrapes from brush, countless insect bites, and a bump on my head from standing up too quickly whilst checking the girls for nanners under the light.

Ladder gave out when I was mounting my exhaust fan in my attic/crawlspace. Tore up and bruised the insides of my arms coming down and smashed several toes and a heel, was limping for weeks after that.

Several aluminum cuts (like a paper-cut on crack) from aluminum tape, love the stuff, but FRAK that stings.

As someone else stated, busted dry ass kneecaps (tile floor).

Just tried starting new genetics, and only one out of twelve beans has survived and that BROKE MAH HEAERT.

I was watering one of my soil plants in the far back corner of my tent and my arm hit my 400w light(vertical and exposed).Had a nice 3 inch long burn, and now a nifty new scar. At least I have to wear long sleeves at work, so I didn't have to explain anything to anyone there.

Man, sounds painful. I've had plenty of grow related boo-boos in my 14+ years of growing, no fun, but a necessary evil.

I hope all you guys who burn yourself on or touch your bulbs for any reason period, clean them afterwards (after bulb is off and has totally cooled). Nothing speeds bulb failure like oil from your skin/hair. :tiphat:
