cheaper cloning medium?

Im looking for a cheaper alternative than "rapid rooter plugs" for a cloning medium. Ive had good results w/RR plugs and rockwool but interested in a cheaper peatmoss,+ perlite mix. any1 have suggestions or amounts (of mix). like 1/2 peat + 1/2 perlite?

Buy Rockwool in the 6-8inch size (and use a chef's knife to cut it into starter cubes. An 8" cube yields over 500 starter cubes.

i've had success with rapid rooters but switched to jiffy peat pellets for cost. they are some what similar imo. a bag of 100 rapid rooters costs me about $25. 72 peat pellets costs $5 at home depot.

Here are 62 clones rooted in a tray of sphagnum moss. I could probably get 80 in it. 9 days from cut, all good. I've only done it twice but shit it works.
