How many of us old farts grow their own? I´ve been at it for three years, one indoor, three outdoor and mostly autos. Love growing in dirt, hydro just looks to complicated.

Made my bones outdoors in the 70's, growing oaxacans and santa marta gold, bagseed. Did a career and family, and came back when the wicked witch tossed me out. I'm only a ganga guru in my own mind, but I can lay my flowers on any table with pride.

been smokin' since '69 but only growin' for a bit
more than 3 years, all indoors as i'm too old to
go traipsing around in the woods, lol.

...and i wouldn't let an auto-flower within 100 yards
of my grow, ...the herpes of the cannabis world if
you ask me!

still, i'm an old fuck who grows my own!

peace, SOG

Hydro is really easy... Once you get a handle on ph, ec, and rez temps and use good stuff like great white. I check my water every 3 or 4 days add some ph down if needed, water if needed... it's on auto pilot. I just look at the plants to tell me what they need, but you better listen cause shit happens fast! LOL

DWC is where I started again... For a low cost entry level way to see if you like hydro, it is by all means the way to go! I moved on to flood trays and the ebb N gro now... I pulled 6-7 oz per plant under 400s in rubbermaid tubs my first run out, after a 20 year break or so in growing...

Peace and puffs

I've been growing on and off for 25 plus years. Constantly the last 12 say. Love growing in dirt. Now I have to grow as much as possible to live on. I grow organic in dirt and love it.

Old dirt farmer here just recently (gulp) switching completely to DWC. Live with out a net. Started 30+ years ago, Continuous for 25 after I got married and she decided she liked my hobby. Minus the occasional move. Same rotating grow, same clone for 15 years, just haven't seen anything better in my circle. I'd quit smoking if I had to buy it.

I've bought so much pro mix in this life I should have stock options coming my way from the parent company. I bought my first bale of it when I was about 20 and that was way back when. Yep, started out with shop lites, bunches of 4 footers. Used to buy em for about 4 or 5 bux with bulbs.

I have spent way too much on FFOF in the past.Came across a farm in the last few years that gives away compost, and my girls love it.Plus the price is right.:)
I can only do DWC runs fall through spring,as the temps are too high in the summer.:):)

If I felt a backyard plant would survive the rippers I'd still be growing outdoors. Indoors, I can't imagine dealing with the hassles of soil. Hydro is as simple or complicated as you care to make it. I tend my DWC twice a month.

Thats where I wanna get next. I'm settled on my nutes, water and lights. A couple-o more tweaks and enhancements. Where do I sign on to the "I Luv DWC (Now)" membership at? And it only took 20+ years to give hydro a second look. The first attempt is a long sad story as I remember it. My bad, years of dirt could have been avoided.

I had 3 indoor and 1 outdoor in the late 80s. The outdoor I never saw but kinda helped finance and it had an amusing finish. See The Great Escape.

Indoors I went from soil to RDWC to DWC. I had to give it up for kids and career.

Fed up with the expensive shit smoke available to me I had my first stealth cab grow starting last year. I'm still smoking it. 3 weeks flower into run #2.:)

IMHO, I have shamelessly copied the easiest way to grow. Wick hydro in coco. Its so simple its boring. Check out my second grow if you're interested.

Great thread,
OO

I wouldn´t say AF´s compare badly to any smoke, even most strains I smoked in A:dam were tamer. I shit you not, properly grown they are a lovely and potent smoke.

Growing and consuming for probably 20 years, indoor-hydro and outdoors in the bush. Also enjoy growing native plants around my home and the usual vegie patch. All of these activities led me to study Horticulture and obtain qualifications.

Been growing for 5, 6 maybe 7? I really can't remember.. But my pops grew all threw my childhood (guerrilla style). Started out with hydroten in containers on a constant drip. Loved it. Now I'm doing rdwc, dwc and indoor soil. I am freaking loving the soil. Will do them all from now on..

Growing weed has done wonders for my interest in botany (went up from 0) and I now grow vegs and have planted some fruit trees.

Gradening is a certain sign of middleage...or so I´m told.
