What's new

4 weeks into 12/12 and half ny fan leaves

have dried up and fell off...turned very yellow..what does that mean?...i'm runnin organic northern lights under a 400 hps

If you mean bottom fans, it's normal. AS the plant grows closer to the end, it pulls nitrogen from the fan leaves. Usually starting with the bottom fans.

Completely normal Fred, but can you post pictures just to be sure?? Sometimes leaves yellow and fall off due to nutrient lockout. Are you having any pH problems?

IDK, these guys may be correct, however it also may be a nitrogen deficiency. 4 weeks seems a little early to me for yellowing.
I agree, Pics would definitely help a diagnosis. :joint:

i wouldn't worry about the lower leaves turning yellow , its natural and more will die off the further into flower you get ,

You'll stress the plants out and at a stage where coming into week 5 they start to swell/grow again.

What kind of soil are you using?

More info on nutrients from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plant_nutrition

This will explain a little about why the big leaves are going yellow which could be from overfeeding, slat build up or wrong ph.

Nutrients are moved inside a plant to where they are most needed. For example, a plant will try to supply more nutrients to its younger leaves than its older ones. so when nutrients are mobile, the lack of nutrients is first visible on older leaves. However, not all nutrients are equally mobile. When a less mobile nutrient is lacking, the younger leaves suffer because the nutrient does not move up to them but stays lower in the older leaves. Nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium are mobile nutrients, while the others have varying degrees of mobility. This phenomenon is helpful in determining what nutrients a plant may be lacking.
