California Endures Another Summer of Pointless Marijuana Raids

For nearly 30 years, the Campaign Against Planting has waged a quixotic battle to eradicate California's outdoor marijuana industry. It's at it again this year.

It's August in California, and that means the state's multi-billion outdoor marijuana crop is ripening in the fields. It also means that the nearly 30-year-old effort to uproot those plants, the Campaign Against Marijuana Planting (CAMP), is once taking up its Sisyphean task of wiping out the crop. The choppers are flying, the SWAT teams are deploying, and the federal funds that largely feed CAMP are being burned through.

They have killed 3 people so far this year as a part of this colossal waste of time and money.

"The enforcement effort has also led to the deaths of at least three growers this year. A worker at a grow in Napa County was killed early last month when he pointed a gun at police. Another worker at a grow in Santa Clara County was killed two weeks ago. And last week, police in Mendocino County killed a third grower they encountered holding a rifle during an early morning raid."

Heh, I got a good laugh out of a recent news story I saw on tv. Authorites cruising through the Malibu mountains on routine sweeps for marijuana plants came across a human skull, and now have to do ACTUAL POLICE WORK.

I havent seen any articles about them raiding private property, In fact I was watching TV where they showed a DEA agent in a helicopter flying over a house with about 40 monster in their back yard and he said we dont bother with those grows

Now, 200 years later, we have a Federal Government which has grown so large as to swallow up the independent states individual sovereignty through legislation like the Buck Act of 1940 and Federal "benefits" to the states, otherwise known as "bribes", and through the use of legislation written on behalf of subversive fascist corporations have usurped the rights of not only the state, but the individual's personal FREEDOM and sovereignty with so called "drug legislation" which is nothing more than a criminal excuse to steal your property and children for the state, (now in fact, the federal government).....

What is freedom? Freedom means without restrictions. If this natural plant were not persecuted, the massive grows would be on the farm owners land. It would be beneficial to the farmers to have the grows closer to their home to watch and tend more carefully, without worry of Law Enforcement or asshole rippers. The market is driven underground, therefore creating a higher demand for less supply. If everyone grew their own 2 trees, smaller demand because of increased supply. Why are tomatoes $4 per pound in the winter and $1.09/lb in the summer? With every household raising their own tomatoes in a small gardens or containers on balconies, those people no longer have to buy tomatoes at the store. Why would they? Their garden tomatoes taste 100x better than a hydroponic, chemically fed, tasteless tomato imported from Brazil. They took care of those plants, those plants probably felt loved and rewarded the person with quality unsurpassed by any supermarket. Everybody grows tomatoes because they are legal and they don't have fear of losing their home and kids, no rippers that need to sell tomatoes for a 100% profit, because who's buying tomatoes??? Everyone has their own already !!!!

The govt created the market, when Pfizer or Monsanto genetically modifies a plant to be round-up resistant, it'll be legalized. Rich white guys get their pockets lined... and then Marlboro will introduce Marley's Joints (they have trademarked that name btw, almost everything from the 70's that rings a bell...Purple Haze, Red Leb, Acapulco Gold, Oaxacan Gold, Panama Red.....etc...)

Legalize It....duh! Then we will experience freedom...

I thought it was our constitutional right as citizens to dissolve the government and start anew......Where is that reset button?
