portable ac in a sealed room?

This has been discussed before but the long and short of it is that if you must go portable get a model that features dual hoses and slightly more cooling power than you think you need. Single hose models leak smell/co2 and in general portable ACs are less efficient than their dual hose brethren.

There might be more detailed answers else where on the forum...

Of course. That would bring in air from the outside. Go with the Window unit Chongs!

yea most definitely do not use the portable ac. i had a dual hose model, like mentioned before, and it did nothing but leak smell, suck all the c02 out of my room, and run all day sucking a ridiculous amount of power. save yourself the headache and learn from my mistake, do not use the portable ac because they blow big time.

sealed room and portable ac is an oxymoron. you cant have a sealed room with a portable AC.

Get a window unit. I have heard LG's do not leak smell. If they do, they can be sealed easily

yea i just got an LG window ac. has the option to close the vent and just recirculate the air inside. im hoping that it works, cant take another run with the smell getting out or losing all my c02

Standard consumer window A/C units don't 'exhaust' anything.

They are "heat exchangers".

Their coils absorb the heat on the interior side and dissipate it through the coils to the outside.

No air movement involved as far as outside/inside is involved.

That little vent opening only allows a draw from outside to in if set up properly and even then it's like a reluctant virgin like sucking cock through a drink stirrer.

so if given the choice between a converted window unit, and a portable with an intake conversion the converted window is the way to go?
