moldy buds..what to do?

I just found a jar that contains almost 2oz's of bud that has gone moldy...not really sure how it happened, they were dry when I put them in...

Is there anything that can be done with them ? hash, oil, baking??? I would think that oil can be made from them,wouldnt the butane kill the spores?

I used bud infected with powdery mildew to make a bunch of brownies, turned out fine. I also believe you can make hash oils with it.


Next time make sure to burp your jars thoroughly, take the buds out if you need too. My dad made the same mistake on his first grow, cost him half his smoke :/

Then they weren't dry when you put them in, maybe on the outside but moisture still remained on the inside and stem. Remember to burp next time.

I'd make BHO or toss them, but I wouldn't cook with them. I wouldn't cook with any other moldy produce, so why bud?

i like to stay on the safe side and just cut out and throw away all the molded buds... i dont like to take any chances b/c some of thse molds are extremely dangerous for your health.

iso will kill all mold and give you some thing to smoke thats safe

It hurts, but one thing is for sure, if you do not use it, it can not harm you, anything else.................maybe, probably, I heard so......toss them is 100 percent safe.

The solvents being used to make oil will kill all molds.

Solvents will kill molds but will do nothing to the toxins that most molds produce as a function of their metabolism

Same thing with rotten food. Cook it all you want, still get botulism.
