I suggest using these cool tubes w/6" duct. Larger and cheaper than a bake-o-round.

Nice hoosier, then blwd could use the mogul socketed lamp, they have a slightly higher lumen output I believe. That's awesome that they're cheaper than the bake around. He might be able to get away with one of those 6" booster fans for cooling it, due to all of the airflow. I have one cooling my rose cabinet right now. I'm using 4" ducting with a 4 to 6" reducer on the fan though, 6" would definitely make things run a lot smoother and more efficient. However, it does keep my 150w mogul cool in the air cooled hood the way it is.

Sweet Hoosier, thanks. Dunno if I mentioned this, but cost is number one priority. How would a like curvy tube from a lantern work?

The only other consideration is space restriction, so the larger tube may not fit with enough space for the plants to grow around.

edit: I just decided to fim the Ice. Dunno why, guess cause it is so short I cant really lst. Here are some pics. The other plant is still not doing great, but its still pushing out new growth, albiet slowly.

Use the power of positive thought. They're all girls, they're all girls is my mantra. Unless I need pollen! How's the ice doing? I've never tried the FIM technique before. I heard it was hit or miss. Do you do it all the time? What are your success rates?

Nope, first time ever. I think I was successful, though, because new growth is already showing. Four new shoots, I believe. It is hard to see right now, I am pretty sure I did it right but if not then it is definitely topped.

As for the unknown... For the longest time I was hoping it would be female, but now I think it would be cool to have some pollen.

I would be down to start making my own seeds, they are expensive to order.

Indeed, that's why they're pushing the fems so hard, they don't want us to breed our own. Take greenhouse for instance, I can never find regular five packs, and the ten packs are too rich for my blood. That's if you can even find them. (although super silver haze is looking nicer by the minute). That really sucks that they do that, you think they'd hook people up after selling seed for $10+ a pop. Sure the females save time and all, but we seem to be losing the freedom to breed our own.

Hey everyone im a newbie here at ic and dont have a lot of knolege obout growing indoors . . Im rely intrested in starting my own small 150w hps grow but have no idea were to start cab dimenstions ,fans,pot size ,soil , enything thats rely necicery if done a few oudoor grows but no i life in a appartment and cant do that any more please if any growers out there can help me with some of there knolege that would be GReat! Ps i dont even know if i am posting in the right section so im sory if i intruded! 

Hey everyone...
My cab is finally done and all heat tests are very positive...
I left the ballast in( call me paranoid of electricity!!) and installed a 80mm intake fan...its worked like a charm..with ambient temps(with no AC) at 76-77, my cabs temps were 81! not bad at all..I like it cool all year round so I'm very pleased...with the scrubber, temps went up 1 degree which is perfect...
here's some pics at day 15 from seed..

here is the intake fan..the hole is 3 inches so now I have 19 inches total of intake..

I also Fimmed her so hopefully all goes well...

Feminized seeds are NOT bad genetics, and I would challenge you to back up such a statement.

I'm kinda with HooDad (above) on this one. While some seeds that are easy to femenize by "stressing methods" can carry a bit of a hermie trait, that tends to be more of a breeder/grower issue than a genetic issue. Properly feminized genetics can be very stable, excellent producers, and fairly hearty & robust growers. And for many indoor farmers femenized seeds are just the ticket to a successful grow.
