Senate confirms new fed prosecutor in S.F.

Russoniello has been an outspoken critic of medical marijuana. After Attorney General Eric Holder announced that the Obama administration would leave pot suppliers alone if they complied with laws in states like California that allowed medicinal use, Russoniello continued prosecutions of two local dispensaries and declared that virtually all such operators in California were profit-making entities subject to federal charges.

So, she defends corrupt White collar criminals accused of stock fraud and prosecutes dispensaries. Great, just what we needed. Government at its finest.

This is right in line in what i see coming. They have over turned 8 which is a blow to the right wing. If and when 19 wins they will strike that down as a blow to the left. This is an election year. They will appease the right by going after a pet cause of the left. They just went after a medical grow in Mendo that was legal and approved by the local law. They are wanting information on the 4 big grows that are approved in Oakland. With this lady being put in I foresee a busy next couple of months as we will see more DEA busts on legal approved grows, as a stop gap tactic in the event 19 goes threw and after as a message to others who are thinking of it. I am not saying its right but I can see the writing on the wall.

Didn't anyone actually READ the article?

The Senate voted unanimously Thursday to confirm President Obama's nomination of Melinda Haag, a San Francisco lawyer and former federal prosecutor, to oversee criminal cases in the Northern District of California.
She will succeed Joseph Russoniello, the district's chief federal prosecutor since January 2008, when he was appointed by President George W. Bush. Russoniello had held the same position from 1982 to 1990.

To me, it sounds like getting Russoniello out is a good thing, and she will be much better for us all.

"Haag, a UC Berkeley law graduate, has handled criminal cases both as a defense lawyer and as a prosecutor. She worked in the U.S. attorney's office in Los Angeles from 1989 to 1993 and in the San Francisco office from 1999 to 2003, where she headed the white-collar crime unit.

Seems to me, graduating from UC Berkeley is a VERY good thing for us all.

I think Cannabis is becoming main stream now so it's all about time to let the elders die off like we all do..
Those born in the 60's and on seem to be more relaxed about cannabis.. I love it myself.

Yeah getting Russoniello out is a good thing.

The Conservatived screamed Rape when the Prop 8 Judge ruled that those against Gay marriage didn't prove how it would harm opposite sex marriage but the Conservative right didn't make a peep about Russoniello violating Obama's rules.

So it is a better thing.. How it turns out is another story we have to wait for IMO.
