Chlorinated water in case of Emerg?

Hey all,

I've got a grow room that is almost a lost cause - as I'm fairly certain that I've 89% males. I'm not a breeder and I know that since I concluded my low female ratio I didn't bother to aerate my water as usual. Problem is they need drink = I wonder how bad could one tapwater feeding be to my plants?

Peace.

Edit: above is drunken type.

I am a bit more disapointed that I am certain that my favorite plants are confirmed males.. I am new and looking into a better managed system. Long 10 week veg on males for first grow.. Pretty disappointed.

lol drunken post. IDK about you but I was using tap water for a bit and it was... ok. It kills off the microlife in the soil though, so that is something to be concerned about.

I switched to RO water recently which can be had for $.20 / gal at the local gas station. If you can find one of those 5 galon water containers, go to your gas station or grocery store and fill it up, its like $1

An organic purist would say to never use water right out of the tap. You don't sound like an organic purist to me. Do what u have to to keep the bitches alive, and consider getting a nice RO machine.

Run over to home depot. They sell 5 gallon jugs of low ppm water for $13.99. Keep the jugs and fill them up at the H2O stations located at most grocery stores for like $2.00 . Usually its R/O water, but a few are spring. Still better than tap though.

Take tokinafaty420 advice. Go get one jug and reuse it! Tapwater is definitely bad for the microorganisms in your soil!

For three years straight I would fill my watering jug right from the sink and go directly to the plants, no one ever told me not too.
Never had a single problem.(that I was aware of anyway)

One time won't kill them.

Before I got an RO unit I did the infamous 5gallon of water refill at the grocery store, worked out fine, just a pain in the ass. I think it was like $1.20 for a refill.

Yeah pesonally I wouldn't do it if I had to refill them more than once a week. R/O units are great, they just use a ton of extra water. For some they pay for their water usage and it can get expensive.

if you let tap water sitfor 24hrs the chlorine gas will dissapate on its own.
but I heard now that some utilities a type of chlorine thadoesn't dissapte as easily,
chloraman or something like that.
but ive use tap before with no real probs, one time would be ok imo

Tap water is dependent on the area you live in. Not all tap is the same. Some places like Deleware have awesome tap, then you come to where I live and the tap is sitting at 160-230 ppm, chloramine, and so much calcium in it that it causes toxicity in plants.
