You are wrong. I suggest you look up curtilage

here is one link http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m2194/is_n4_v67/ai_20576402/

Oh and who remembers this guy? I was kind of fond of him....
https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=79898&highlight=curtilage

He had the gate closed and locked, property fenced. So there is an expectation of privacy and the cop went through a gap and basically snuck onto the property.

Very well, I did not take into account the locked gate. However, so no one is confused if you do not have a gate infront of your driveway it is fair game for any police officer to walk right up to your house on it.

Lazyman,

Ok the report says welfare check, status is "unable to locate" does that sound normal? Thanks guys!

All's well my friend. That looks documented and closed! Unless you a big fish they won't try and "cover" the story by manufacturing incidents after the fact.

yup. anything that creates a privacy barrier around the home. It can be 10 foot high bushes. But if no fence, I do not think they can just walk around. maybe from the road to the front door but I do not think they can snoop around

Also if you have a barn that is 200 yards from the house and is gated, it may NOT be protected under the curtilage rule

I suggest people read those links and do a little research. It is a very grey area and I would rather be on the right side of it

Hope to turns out to be nothing for you Lazy.
It sucks that you have lost one thing for a while, and that's peace of mind, I hate worrying about stuff like this.

What gives?
Your sig line says "legal"....

Little yank of the leg Rez? lol

Some of us in Cali do realize exactly what you posted in Krunch's thread, and by the sound of it, Lazy realizes this as well. Sig line basically equates to, "Yeah I'm growing, but I'm trying to do it legit; so (please) don't waste your time DEA"

Thanks guys, I may still move the contents of my veg room elsewhere for a month to be safe, and bring my count down to under 99. I grows for ten patients, which (prior to the Kelly case) meant I could grow 30 plants per patient in this county. But Krunchbubble had a similar gig and medical rec, and got popped too. As far as cops go most of them THINK all weed is illegal, so they are happy to go around arresting growers and wasting the DA's time. 215 only means something to us, cops couldn't care less.

glad this all seems to be a scare for you! with all the recent medical grow busts its hard not to be a little paranoid... especially when you have a copper knockin! at least your medical paperwork is all in order so at least you are covered in court even if leo doesnt want to recognize or uphold california state laws...

wishing you the best and keep us updated... sounds like with the police report they had a call from a neighbor possibly and didnt give an exact address or location? hmm , take care :joint:

hey lzy,

do you tell a lot of people about this grow? do the people who live there do a lot of talking?

it just seems like there are too many loose lips... and when you put all of the cameras up on the property, that is just going to be another indicator to the piglets that you have something to hide...

Lazy........If you`re under surveillance and make a move to get rid of shit , you`ll be taken down and give the bastards free entry into your property with all your veg plants caught with probable cause to search the premises addin those plants to the total house numbers sendin yas ta Fuckville.........

It`d be a shame ta lose all you`ve got invested in such a dialed setup by bein over your legal limits of total plants ........I`d kill as many as it took ta get below legal parameters and hold a funeral service with a few tears .........

That way if they`re comin.......you`ll be legal within the scope of your scrips for your patients and yas won`t get caught with buncha fukin bullshit foliage that can be replaced down the line.......

Freedom and not havin ta pay big bucks ta whore ass lawyers has gotta mean somethin.........Stay safe my buddy........

BTW.......Getchas some game camera`s that`re camo`ed and have built in infra red flash tech and hide the fuck out of em so LEO won`t know they`re there , and not make yas look like you`re protectin somethin w/surveillance cams that stick out like a sore dick.......

I sincerely hope this is all bullshit , but with several GOOD folks fallin by the wayside to the likes of nuthin ass LEO in the last yr or so worries me LM......

Cover yer ass......DHF........

Thanks Jack, do you think during your knock and talk that the cops saw, smelled or heard something that contributed to your raid? Because in this case they certainly didnt, there isnt one gram of weed In house they knocked at and never has been.

Well no i was outside washing my vehicle when he came up, he also said my truck was of a different color so "not to worry" ....he never made it to my door .....they already had enough evidence to support a warrant so i was fucked no matter what i said ......live and learn i guess !!!!

Get that camera setup now ,,, i have a 8 cam stand alone dvr system best investment ever ... has txt and email motion notification ...500 gb harddrive and remote viewing from any comp with internet ...best 600 bucks ever spent
......

on a side note i have some great video of my neighbor getting raided ..3 of my cams captured it all ....little did they know they just needed to walk across the street and they could have got two birds with one stone, as it were ..

peace buddy i hope this all passes :tiphat:

Hey guys, no nobody talks, I have a couple helpers that know about it but since they make money off me they wouldn't. They were also photographed and told if anything goes down, their pics go to a biker gang and they get green lit. But I do trust them (obviously) so that shouldn't be necessary. Nobody else knows where it is, my other grower buddies know ABOUT it, but not where it is. We've all been friends and worked together for several years.

I'm about 80% sure it was a wrong address on a "welfare check" but I'm not taking chances. Bought several driveway alarms today and found an automatic lock for the automatic gate, whoohoo! Also ordering a 4-cam package with DVR shortly, I have good places to hide them so they won't be visible. Dropping the plant count will help me sleep a bit, I think I will just bring the excess to my house and veg them under a shade canopy in my garden for a month. They might like that!

not necessarily, I have some long time family friends that are completely straight in terms of consumption of anything illegal, but after a dispute with a crazy neighbor they put cameras along every wall of that house...some people just like that extra security it's not indicative of illegal activity

^^^^ I agree!! Extra security and cameras doesn't imply illegal activity. I install cameras as part of my job, hidden and public . You would surprised how many places have pinhole cams.

I had a very similar occurance happen about a year ago. 2:00AM there is a loud knock at the door. 2 officers responding to a "911 hangup" they gps'ed back to my address. They wanted to come in and look around to make sure my spouse wasn't lying in a pool of blood. She was already in lockup for an unrelated incident. I blatently refused despite their insistance. I did end up giving them my dr. license and they took down my info and left. Needless to say I was sweating bullets b/c I had a male hanging out in hte living room just barely out of sightr from the front door. I don't have a criminal record so I'm assuming that's why I never heard anything else about it.

Bottom line: don't let them in. period (PERIOD)

i got the domestic distubance visit. then i got the 911 hang up visit. and ultimatey i got raided... i never knew if they were all related...

lazy at least you're paying attention. i was living in a dream, unaware that something was going down. but at that point i was 14yrs into growin and was lulled to complacency...

no one deserves this type of stress and anxiety, and especially you lazy !!

Aw thanks guys, you're all very kind and wise!

I've been avoiding the spot, making sure I'm not seen visiting for a few days. I was kinda worried cops might try this and then wait and see who shows up all panicky. Not me! lol

I got some sleep last night but am still not relaxing, remain vigilant friends! Been doing some more cleanup at home, dumped and buried a bunch of rootballs from last crop into the bottom of my compost heap.

Sucks, the day before this happened I picked up a nice 9mm from a bro (living in a rural area sans firearms is kinda scary, response times here are ~30 minutes for sheriff.) Now I've gotta toss the thing. Grrr.

I wonder, if they do a raid and see patient scrips on the wall, are they going to go raid all of those addresses too? Some are in different counties.

I'm glad things have worked out so far. Hoping for the best.

It is a good thing a girl answered the door. I've seen cops really push the issue when a guy answers and can't produce the alleged female victim.

I would love to know the answer to this question. My broker asked me if I wanted to exchange scripts with a few of his other friends who live in my area. It would help cover my plant numbers. I've refused so far because of the concern you raise here.
