What strains are those ? the first one is a beast, I'm in Canada and have never grown out a bush that big outdoors. How did you go about getting her to that size ?

I love the pink\red color of the pistils on that second pic :D

Been tinkering with plants for years so i can't ascribe any strain names to either of these plants but at some point i have grown most of the earlier flowering types and selected the more promising plants to pass on their genes with a focus on purple flowering forms. With the big girl she was just a lucky find last year and a very fast grower with a decent finishing time, I only got 5 seeds but so far so good and i love the growth habit. Getting her that size was an exercise in simplicity with me simply direct sowing the seeds in a 20 gallon pot in mid april and keeping her well watered through our somewhat freakishly warm spring. She is at least 7 foot now and must have put on a foot in the last week so i have no idea how big she is going to get, my only concern is she has shown no signs of flowering yet (other than preflowers) and that i might have to upsize into a 23 or 30 gallon pot.

OH THE HORROR, I was worried that it might be the case but i can now say that that big beautiful plant in the first picture is in fact a Dude. On the bright side i love the way it grows and how frost hardy the seedlins where so i think i will let it develop a few flowers to knock up some of the ladies. If i can get that growth habit combined with a real nice early flowering happy i will be very happy.

Yeah man deff cross it with a quick finisher! Im at 45n northeast and 20 or so of my plants are just starting to flower (Guerrilla Gold#3, and Danish Gold f3). The rest are in there stretch and getting ready to flower in a week or 2. Everything will be done by mid sept, im hoping.

Thats a huge plant btw for eastern canada! Good luck, ill be checking this thread bro!

I think you will enjoy the GG#3 always finished good and early for me and i am at the same lattitude as you. There (well at least a couple years back anyway) was a very small Pheno in GG that actually finished for me by late july and many where done by early september, All in all a good strain and i am sure the newer beans are even better. Best of luck with your grow and i will be posting lots of pictures over the next few weeks as things get interesting.

Another shot showing scale but tommorow morning he is getting cut down, though i will save some cuttings to cross with some of my early flowering girls.

Lots more pictures coming soon.

Sweet man, they look really healthy :) To bad about that massive bush being a dude but I guess all's not lost since your going to use it to breed :dance013:

Looks like everything is quite content, great job.

I do want to comment on one thing in particular though, I noticed what appeared to be a powerline in the background of your photos. I would really advise against planting in areas with powerlines, they typically perform maintenance on them every couple of years. Just a word to the wise.

uh hum.......nice identifiable ink on the arm. If your going to cover your face cover your tats as well.

Ferel I appreciate the concern and had it been a permanent tatoo i would have removed it as well.
Cannaseur, I am probably a little bit to laid back when it comes to placement but maintenance was performed last fall on those lines and it brought me no grief but you do bring up a very good point about the power lines, Along with the maintanace there is a risk of trees going down during storms and just general inspections going on. To Be honest but there seems to be little effort to eradicate or concern about small grows but a little mare caution might serve me well.
Thanks for the imput folks

Hello slartibartfast4 !
Your plants look great man !
I wish you a good growyear!
What strains are you growing?
Peace :rasta:

Can't really call any of them strains as i have been tinkering for years and these are all just crosses from past years but GG Mighty Mite, Early Girl KC36, Lethal Purple, Purple #1 and many others have figured into the crosses in the past. Hopefully given a few years and some work on my part to stabilize things i will have a few strains to call my own.

It's cool. Just trying to look out for one's safe interest. You'd be surprised how many times I've seen pics on the websites with someones face blacked out but they'll have an arm covered in ink showing. Then they act all surprised and can't figure out how someone recognized them from a website.
Stay safe and enjoy those monsters your growing
