Penguin's Micro Grow - LSD, SSSDHxG13, Blueberry, White Widow

Hey guys,

This is my second grow after growing out a white widow girl from Nirvana a month or 2 back. I had to get rid of my tent that i used for that grow so i decided to get into micro growing instead.

I'm growing 4 strains in this grow, White Widow (Feminized/Greenhouse Seeds), LSD (Feminized/Barney's Farm), Blueberry (Regular/Dutch Passion) and SSSDH x G13 (Regular/Reservoir Seeds).

My plan is to grow these up a bit until they're big enough to LST. Then gonna put a screen over the top of them and continue to LST the plants by weaving them in & out in all 4 corners of the screen to maximise each bud site for each plant

Hoping to get a male from either the Blueberry or the SSSG and then collect pollen for future seed collections so will be exciting to see if either turns out to be male!

Here's an update on the stats of the grow.

Cab: Cardboard box in closet with lighting attachment on the roof.
Medium: Organic Soil (Peat Moss, 5 in 1 manure mix, Perlite & Dolomite Lime)
Lighting: 130w 'Cool White' CFL
Nutrients: 'Seasol' (Seaweed/Fish Emulsion), Black Strap Molasses in PH'd water
Technique: LST / SCROG

I started this grow because i just got back from Europe and wanted to get back into the game I'd been collecting a few interesting strains recently and wanted to try some out next to each other. I'm not using a custom cab or high tech lighting or anything cos i'm waiting for Darwinsbulldog to give me back my DIY cab that he's flowering a plant in at the moment. I cant wait to try the different buds of each strain.

The Plan: I'm going to grow each strain up in jiffy pellets embedded in plastic cups with soil until they outgrow the cups and have hopefully hit the suspended screen above. Then going to transplant them into larger square pots to finish out the grow and LST and weave them horizontally across the screen.

If the regular Blueberry and SSSDH x G13 seeds produce a male then i'll collect pollen and maybe pollinate the lower branches of the other 2 females. Possibly take clones at some stage or just wait for the seeds at the end.

Any suggestions would be more than welcome I'll post updates every few days to a week so stay tuned.

...and be careful with growing in a box like that, all
kidding aside, paper, water and electricity can be a
very dangerous combination.

btw, second hand stores are a great source for cheap
cabinets to modify for your own use, my flower cab
was only $50.00, less than the cost of an 1/8 of what
i'm growing in it, lol.

someotherguy yeh i'm really loving the stealth of your cab. My custom bedside table one is too small for any large scale growing so might have to upgrade to a full size cabinet like urs after this grow. Such a good setup in urs. About getting males, i'm not too fussed if i get one out of the 2 or not cos say the Blueberry's a girl then i can try the taste of it wen i smoke it or if it's a boy i can get pollen for seed so s'all good. Either way ur colloidal silver thread was a great read, thanks!

SmilinBob, yep that's the plan alright His plant should be done flowering in there in another 4 weeks or so; i should have pretty decently sized plants in there by then

that soil you're using, is that out of the green bin (peat moss mix) or the stuff we made the other day (organic potting soil mix)??

Yeh Darwin all have popped and are going for it now! LSD's the clear winner by a mile but it still has its seed cap on haha. And yeh i'm actually using the organic potting soil mix instead of the peat moss mix.

Hey guys, here are some photos of the plants at 4 days. The LSD is still the clear winner out in front. The white widow had a slow start because its seed cap stayed on for ages but after the seed cap fell off it's grown heaps. It's now the second tallest plant after only 1 day's growth! The blueberry is lagging behind slightly. I've just been misting them maybe once or twice a day and they seem to be doing fine in our cold winter climate atm. Anyway enjoy.

woooot that white widow from GHS has a much darker stem than the ones we've grown out from nirvana, it'll be interesting to compare the differences as they get bigger. keep the photos coming penguin!
