old beans popped no problem. they are fem alaskan ice and super silver haze. didnt soak seeds overnight and they had been on ice for sometime but still 100% germination. first time with the leds. the soil is reused foxfarm oceanforest. and for the record up front i dont care if you think that leds or greenhouse is bullshit.
other opinions more than welcome.

pulled life support on both girls last night. no worries though i learned a couple things.
1. you can burn your plants with leds if they are too close. t-5 distance i normally use fried my babies.
2. dont reuse soil. never tried this before and i figured since the soil had just plain water for 2 weeks that it should be leached and fine to reuse. i then checked the runoff with drops and it was fucked. by then it was too late.
3. evaporation rates are drastically different with leds. it seems to be much slower than normal.
a combination of all three of these things and i thought it best just to begin again anew.
flushed em down the crapper this morning.
rest in peace ladies.
your premature deaths were not in vain.

All right everybody...
Another go. this time Alaskan Ice only.
2009 beans.
Started with an over night soak.
Germ temp was held at a suprisingly steady 85 degrees.
I accomplished this with a makeshift sprouting pad.
Dish towel folded over twice on a backache type heating pad set to low in a humidity dome with an outdoor temperature sensor.
3 days later both seeds had well established tails.:dance013:

They were then dropped in beer cups of straight Foxfarm Ocean Forest and left to sit under a two lamp sunblaze T5.
24 -7 light regimine in a DR 80 tent.
circulation is handled via a Vortex 4" extracting air straight out.
pics to follow as I intend to maintain this little log more routinely.

Little Shop of Horrors

and through the magic of television...

We have a sativa leaning pheno of alaskan ice at about 9 weeks of flower. Its not even worth it to venture a guess as to just how long it will take to finish. It is a true beast of a plant and has gotten away from me. Stretch was INSANE. So yes I know it looks fucking disgusting...:smoky:
There are many reasons for this but suffice to say I have learned alot of lessons about this finicky alaskan ice plant.

This is a photo of the trunk of the tree. This redwood is stuffed into a 3 gallon container so theres the first mistake. It just kept growing and growing and growing...

The next round will be a better attempt at what I call a screenless scrog. Clones took weeks to root but finally did with about a 70% success rate using my "patented method". To be fair I was lazy and cut with dull scissors so a few didnt make it.

The next generation is when the show will really begin. After all this is chess not checkers. Sativa leaning AI is rocket fuel so dialing this one in is going to be worth it. Thanks for checking this out!:tiphat:
