I spoke my mind and rose some hairs and with no regrets, THANKFULLY people told me in rep (dont matter to me what kind) what was on thier mind.

The bottom line was some customers cant afford anything but commercial strains

Well that statement in and of itself is absolute misinformation, and ill go as far as say its a lie some tell themselves to justify greed.

What is the differential of commercial vs medical?

there is none unless you got a bunch dudes who did not do due their due diligence to make sure they were doing right by their patients and themselves.

In the end you'll say its yield but that is absolute bullshit any med strain can yield proper with proper horticultural skills, not to mention that there are yielding commercial stains with medicinal value.

Most of today's strains have been dialed in and had a diary of the process posted online. Many of the little nuances that could possibly increase the learning curve with some med strains are already out there for you. Many of us never had that luxury, yet still managed to make it happen.

I can't blame states that want to regulate the medical dispensaries & types of meds they grow and chose the best medical strains that will have the highest quality strains that work for the patients.

After all It's all about the Important patient not the all mighty dollar unless your a fucking scumbag who pays the money to register a phony company and rents a store front, throw some graphics in tye dye colors and throw in some funky smoke and tell people you care for the med patients and their your #1 Priority when your really counting the cash out the back door and their being butt fucked in the front door paying high prices for mexican brick weed compliments of the mexican cartel.

dispensaries owners should be compassionate and dedicate to finding and growing or buying their strains they offer to be the best out their and if that means less choice but quality meds that are for real and help sick people then that is how this should be done.

its the general no integrity mindset that is poisoning the country and as a life long med maker, supplier and patient i'm telling you your shortcuts are the first big step to your long term failure.

Your a med dispensary talking about how you need to grow commercial buds to make money, but if anyone had any marijuana related horticultural insight you would know that the best medicine gets the best patients both in terms of quality and quantity.

The only real difference is your DEFECTIVE PERCEPTION that believes yield and potency are mutually exclusive.

So reinforce into yourself its the plant and no the gardener that ensures a maximization of both yield and resin production and tell me how life is in 5-10 years.

what do your customers want ? landrace sativa with a trippy high and mild stone that makes them hungry? or painkiller sleepy effects? or inbetween?
id imagine most would want the painkiller type, in which you would be best off with a stronger indica type... some kind of afghani or afghani hybrid... very good stuff! i found a good strain that does the trick for me in everyway i need and yeilds well, superskunk indica pheno, which is skunk#1 X afghani. slight fruity smell, not stinky or harsh, just soft and hits home hard!
sure you guys want to make money but at the end of the day if your customers want landrace sativa which yeilds poorly, then you should make an effort to provide it for them. there probably wont be many that do want something like that and you could probably get away with having only afghan crosses and everyone being happy. but still do ask your customers what they would like and listen to all their comments and suggestions. having 30 of all the bigname strains isnt the most important thing, its how what you do have works for them. that will make you very sucessful.

After the last bill passed in Colorado anyone left owning a dispensary had to shell out some massive dough fucking quick like! They had to go from buying it from us, to growing 70% almost over fucking night... Oh boo-fucking-hoo you say... Well I know people that have won and lost alot on these deals... These are my friends losing everything divorces, family, houses... All part of the game??? So I don't blame them wanting to try and make back some of the investment they just dropped... Grow warehouses, 30,000 watts, 10 ton AC, santa fe dehumidifers, fucking permits, electrical work, plumbing... Not to mention city's banning dispensary's and grows over night...


Enough of the bullshit we are all here to grow weed not judge each other we get enough of that bullshit from outsiders...

Anyway... I have plants that flower from 45-100 days with a full range of effects. Landrace sativas and sat crosses to strong, narcotic indicas. I want everyone that opens a jar in our shop to say "holy shit", and never go anywhere else again. Not an unreasonable goal, IMO

Something important to consider is - your experience and ability in growing.


It would be good to choose a strain that will push your skills and expand your comfort level with growing.


Early on, the best strain is the one that teaches you the most. My first successful stain was B52. She taught me what a healthy plant could do. She taught me how to clone and she taught me a LOT about hermi traits, and lastly she taught me it is good to hate hermis. lol


I dunno if I would choose BigBud or similar commercial oriented strain; - I recommend you still lean to the memorable strains cause it always sounds better to say "look at may bag of summtin special" than "hey ain't this BigBud pretty?"

I like Flo, she is pretty growing and has a nice mellow high and unique incensey smell.... most times I prefer a strain with a more intense high but the Flo isn't weak by any means.

There's a pretty good cut of flo floating around CO...
