~Quick nutrient question for Coco~

Hey guys/gals was very curious about trying some coco chips in my next run. However, I have used GH flora series for years and was curious if the floragro, floramicro, florabloom work well with coco. A friend recently started using coco chips in the same system i am using and loves them, but he's using maxibloom from GH. So was wondering if the GH flora series is ok to use with coco???

Thanks in advance.....

herbglaze....i think you misread?!? i believe he was asking about the 3 part!

i personally dont use it...but i believe plenty of people on here do so therefore you cant go wrong....

Awesome everyone thank you for your replies. I've been using the 3-part flora series for close to a decade and I was dreadin' if I was gonna have to find a different nutrient mix. Thanks again....

I would use your 3 part, plus supplement with something like cal-mag. Calcium and magnesium deficiencies are quick normal when using coco.

I've used hydroton for years and have never needed to use a cal/mag supplement with the 3-part mix from GH. Would coco be different?

I assume you dont have RO water then? If youre tap has sufficient cal/mag for hydro, it doesnt mean it will be enough for coco, though. Coco "steals your calcium and magnesium ions."

Nope, I use RO water. I went ahead and picked up some botanicare cal/mag plus this weekend as I needed it for my soil girls that i'm running fox farms nutes inside ffof soil. So I have some on hand. Should I just go head and start adding the cal/mag once I get the coco ones up and goin? Or should I just wait til they show beginning signs of cal/mag deficiencies?

I use the Flora series in coco. Well, I don't use grow, just micro and bloom. You may not need any cal-mag at least once your coco gets balanced. Meaning that it has enough nutes to keep what it likes to hold onto without reducing the amount the plant needs.

I find that sometimes a week after going into 12/12 it'll need extra P,K,and mag.
Also, maxibloom works great with coco. I've used maxibloom this run because I ran out of flora bloom. I just add in some liquid koolbloom.
