Well i got some bad news guys. I only have two females :(. I started chopping the males who were filling out pretty nicely. I dont want them to get to large.

it sucks because my smallest plants are the females. I popped 4 Ultra Sonja(UK Cheese x Blockhead) which will be going in next. This sucks....

Thats the glory of my situation, nothing is weaved through the fence. All i have to do is cut the base and pull the plant through ;).

I'm excited for the Ultra Sonja though, so i cant complain. i'll still have plenty of women come the time. This gives me a chance to use my new ballast. I just bought it!

maree- If i can give out advice, i better be able to take it. I love experimenting so i'm always open to any ideas.

Well guys theres nothing i can do now but wait. I'm almost sure the others are females, just from my experience growing. Males show up early females take a while.. Than again only time will tell.

I'll make sure to keep this thread alive though and follow the last plants i have if its worth it...

Well the first C99 is a sexy little mama!

And the other female, Mob Boss runt

I chopped the males down so they're only one shoot to grow from. I just didnt want tons of pollen dropping. I took cutting of the males and hopefully can manage to keep one of each. Only time will tell....I'm trying a new lazy method of cloning and hoping it will work...

The Ultra Sonja have popped and i'm thinking about popping some more C99 since their just so damn sexy and fast! Maybe i should clone the C99 while its still early....

Yo ballin, where did you get them c99's again? I've seen that mobboss put out.... even the runts.

I got them off Seedbay. They were labeled as Fairlight C99. It seemed like a great deal to me so i picked one up. The plants seem to be very consistent and look similar to each other and every picture i've seen of C99.

I think thats the one good thing about this run, is these males seem perfectly suited to their matching pair. The C99 male was super stanky and had thicker branches than the female, he'll add nicely.

The Mob Boss is gonna be a great set of F2's. I have that super stanky, thick, tall and branchy male to add to the short stanky female.

I actually rearranged things since those pictures. Since i chopped up the males i decided i need to utilize 360* of light, so i tied the tops of the plant sideways now. This way when i get my new ballast and run the 250w HPS dimmed the bulb arc can run almost the entirety of the plant. Also maybe i can fill up 75% percent of the screen if the C99 keeps stretching.

The Ultra Sonja have popped and i decided i'm gonna try 2 Planewreck-Trainwreck x Afghan. (Thanks seedbay for the birthday present!)

Keep me posted I'm using a galaxy 150w HPS/MH digital ballast with the MH lamp positioned vertically such as yours. I agree that the MH might not be the best vertical vegger, the plants seem to fill out, but not grow upward. I plan replacing the MH to run my HPS, I'll let you know how it works out, although I'm only entering my third week of veg.

Well i decided to return the Galaxy ballast. I cant run the bulbs i'd like to run, and in reality didnt see that big of a difference between the two. Not to mentiuon the people at sunlight supply seem to get their info from all over the place.

Sorry for no pics ltely im on a new computer and cant uplad any photos for safety purposes. Give me some time and things will get back on track. I'll put it to you like this C99 is a gem in my garden!

Interesting. I am going to get a 55 watt pll and stick it vertical in center of 2x2 tent. Already have LEDs over head, but want better penetration.

If you have not, check out defoliation thread in indoor hydro section.

I love my PL-L's but their awkward to run vertical. Also there is no need for defoliation here. I've always defoliated to an extent. However with this growing style there is absolutely no need to. I direct where i want the light to go, pull the fan leaves back behind the screen and leave it. Why chop the energy sources, they'll kill themselves if necessary...

I'm loving this grow dude and have read through it a couple of times, one quick question though, what's the dimensions of the space your using ? Is it in a stealth box or cupboard ?

I'll feel like a numpty if you have already posted your dimensions, but as I said I've read though it twice already and didn't see anything.

Cheers

I dont know if i quoted it here or not, but theres no hurt in asking.

Its a Secret Jardin that i consider to be pretty stealth. I've had people come in my room and not even notice it. It makes no noise due to the fan. Everyone thinks its a suitcase. Anyways, its a 40cm(15.7) x 40x120(i think).

I'll be uploading pictures tomorrow just so you can see the progress of the girls. The C99 managed to make this vertical scrog worth it.

I just fired up the HPS two days ago, and they have gained around an inch and a half vertically. Perhaps the redder spectrum is the ticket for vegging vertically. Good luck big ballin, looking forward to some pics!

As promised heres the pics! It may not be a jungle anymore but its what i have to work with.

I'm starting to wish i didnt pop more seeds. I'm thinking about taking break from growing for a while, just to ease my mind some. Its rough breaking passed your comfort zone, which has never been a problem, for me growing in the last 6 years..

Heres the last of the Prophet. My Prophet mom is dead along with the male cuttings i have. It makes sense that i'm gonna have to save my Prophet breeding projects for a later date.

I finally got around to do some pollinating. The male i chose is very chemmy and is a perfect canidate to bring out the chem in my girl. Also it should hopefully give her the stretch she needs.

She's leaning on the blockhead side of things but the chem i got will be perfect. He has a strong scent of fuel and citrus thats so reminscent of Chemdawg D. Not to mention he had some female flowers going on.

The girls are showing their clusters of flowers and it seems that week two is coming to an end.

I like these shots they give some perspective of the C99. She is by far one of my favorite plants i've grown so far. Her structure is gorgeous, but than again there's a lot ahead of us. But her smell is unmistakable.

im of the belief that a 150 hid light can bring in a half pound done vertical like this with the right strain n numbers and everything else, i may be over estimateing such a weak light but to come close to 200 grams shouldnt be impossible.

Thats what im hoping on. If i can manage at least 4oz ill be happy. Anything more than that and im ecstatic. Only time will tell, i have more seedlings going in the chamber on the 14th. Their tiny, but i need to find some mother plants i like and dont hav the room for huge plants, which kinda sucks or the time being.
