Organic outdoor White Castle, skunk1 and bag seed

Here is my grow for this year.

I've got 19 plants out right now ranging in height from 1"-1.5'. Most of my plants are bag seeds from donations of friends. As such there are at least 10 different varieties not including my name brand seeds from Gypsy Nirvana seeds standard line, which are White Castle and Skunk #1.

I just started about 50 more of the bag seed and then I've all 10 of my white castle germ'd and broke earth I believe. My skunk #1's I abused a bit on accident, withholding water killed 3 and I snapped one in two while watering, go figure. So I have 3 skunks outside, between 1 and 3 inches tall. Also I molested their roots when I transplanted so basically I fucked them hard, which I'm kicking myself for because I was especially looking forward to the skunk.

Anyway, here are some pics, will get some of the white castle seedlings up soon too as I know there is very little info on this strain out there, part of the reason I bought it, and because the lineage is tits. Will post some more info about this grow soon. Hope you enjoy!

Below are all bag seeds, and probably equatorial sativas at that, unlikely to finish at my latitude, but I'll give them a while, if they don't show sex soon then they will get the chop to make room for the White Castle and other bag seedlings.

Gypsy Nirvana White Castle

Gypsy Nirvana White Castle

Here are the ten White Castle Seedlings. They are vigorous growers and have been making steady progress since I germ'd them two days ago.

That is 100% germination rate for the seeds I received, which by the way was lightning fast. So fast I almost don't believe they were sent all the way from the netherlands, that's what I call service!

Now on 7/21 my white castle seedlings are on their second set of real leaves. Several days ago I lost half of my infant seedlings to some sort of rodent and a couple to slugs. The rodent expertly extracted each sprout from the soil in each cup. The slugs ate the stems of older seedlings.

So instead of the 75 - 100 I should have had, I've got about 50. I'm not complaining, because I'm grateful for what I've still got but I sure was bummed when I discovered the casualties.

The picture I'm posting here is one of three plants that are in to flower right now. They do not get the full day's sun because of various trees and shrubs so that is a contributing factor to it's flowering time. I'm posting the plant that has the most floral mass. Also the pictured plant is unknown bag seed, think I can get away with taking a few cuttings. How big do you think this plant will get?

All my plants get is heavily diluted raw milk from grass fed cows, some organic 5-5-5 mix (blood, bone meal, etc) and a splash of urine to mark the spot as mine. I didn't even really turn the ground beyond making a hole to plant them. There are a lot of weedy plants out in my patches so the ground seems decent.

My Skunk #1's are about 6 inches tall, very scrawny, probably my fault not being gentle with the roots when I planted the already abused seedlings. I sure hope I can rehab them, this was my most anticipated plant for this harvest. I love a good skunk!

Hey still looks like your putting in the work, sounds like your dealing with the same BS, it's a tough sport but someone's gotta do it!

My SK1's got eaten by deer and slugs, then I had two left that went to shit LONG STORY between partners & containers, 2 things I knew better than, arrrrg. IOne turned out male with beautiful purple banana's & the other is a girl, she'll be preggo so not all is lost with my skunks.

GL & happy farming.

Thanks agroagro for the kind words!

Here's today's update.. I won't do one everyday but wanted a few more pics so here they are...

7.23 - All Plants healthy. My flowering plants are continuing to put on budmass. My skunks are looking quite a bit better than they had been, even though they still aren't prime examples of healthy plants. And some of my other bag seed adolescents are looking better after some transplant abuse.

The pics I'm posting are of one Skunk #1 adolescent that is finally bouncing back after transplant abuse. The other pics are of my flowering bag seed girls.

Update 7.29.10

Update 7.29.10

Well after the devastating loss of half of my sprouts to some sort of vermin, things are looking up. By fortune I was gifted about the equal amount of seeds and purchased a few more so, even though I'm a bit behind timewise the numbers are at least back up where they were supposed to be.

The white castle seedlings are coming along nicely, all except for one runt who seems to be stunted, I don't blame the genetics, it was probably my fault. All except for the runt seem to lean toward the ice side of the genetics with fat leaf blades but maybe that will change.

I just sexed another female, which puts me up to 4/100ish plants! Hopefully the other 96 or so will show soon haha Actually the vast majority of my plants are seedlings yet so hopefully they don't go in to flower just yet.

One of my girls, the one that is furthest along flowering got snapped about a third of the way up her stem from the ground. The brake severed half the stem so the plant will make it but a lot her fan leaves have died and are dying. I put a splint on her and used a piece of copper wire to tether her to a dead sapling nearby which should keep her up right and allow what healing can occur to happen.

I think today I'm going to clone the plant that just yesterday showed her sex, she's still vegetative and of the four girls it would probably be the least burdensome to clone a few from her.

Far left pic: All seedlings. These are all seedlings with their first set of true leaves. Any sprouts that have not yet shed their shells are not pictured

Middle Pic: These are the 'White Castle' seedlings. Notice the runt, not sure what happened there, they all started out equally vigorous.

Far Right Pic: This is the girl furthest along in flowering, in spite of the severed portion of her stem her bud mass continues to increase. She threw a few bananas before she snapped, and then several more after the wound, I've been picking them off but I think I'll let a few go. There's a good chance they're due to stress and not naturally occurring so it would be nice to get some seed from them. Plants are amazing aren't they! I recently read about a frog that could change it's sex too.

Bag seed and white castle

Bag seed and white castle

Update. A couple more bag seed plants have shown sex as female, so far no males sexed, so that's a good thing!

A good thing but not entirely true, one of my girls started throwing nanners after her main stem was broken and so she's gone to seed pretty heavily. But thas ok, she didn't yield much because she began to flower at such a small height, so I'll just use her for cooking and use the seed in an isolated low maintenance plot next season in case it exhibits any hermie tendencies. Bummer though because she has a wonderful fruity lemon smell.

My white castle's are doing well, they are starting to show their pheno's a bit more, I thought they were almost all the ice pheno but more are showing the WW side of their genes. My other girls that are full in to flowering are packing on the weight. I bought some earth juice bloom for some immediate P, hopefully that's helping, they look healthy!

One of my sativas that I was going to use to experiment with horizontal growing, by training it down to the ground and then burying all exposed stem, mysteriously went limp and now looks very sad and pathetic, not sure if I burned it with fish emulsion or if disease hit it, but it's neighbor of similar looking pheno is healthy and got the same treatment so go figure. No big loss, they wouldn't finish here any way. Still, it has me concerned the same thing might get my other girls.

The pics below are of all my bag seedlings and the 8 white castles. If you enlarge the pic and look carefully, you'll notice that nearly each seedling has a different profile, exhibiting the diverse array of genetics from so much different seed. It has been really fun to watch all these different, and unknown strains grow next to eachother. Enjoy!

Harvested a few buds today

Harvested a few buds today

probably will harvest the rest of those plants over the next few days. I'm going to do a little experiment and see how different they smoke as they progress through maturity.

My other girls should start flowering pretty quick!

I also harvested a hermie. I think it has some mature beans on it and it's pretty sparkly in any case so will ice whats left over after I pull the seed. I will also have to try and figure out how to describe the smell, it's wonderful!

Here are some pics of what I harvested and the plants they came from.

Thanks MeNotYou, it's nice to get some results after all the work, hopefully there will be more to come!

I culled a few males yesterday, both very sativa plants from my batches of bag seed so I'm not too bummed about them, they might not have finished anyhow.

Sexed a few more females and still waiting on about 30 plants to show.

My white castle seedlings are my fastest and most vigorous growers of my potted plants. I imagine they'd be a lucrative strain indoor if they produce well.

Will have more pics as harvest progresses.

Some more finished product

Some more finished product

Here's the final product from the two plants pictured in prior posts. All together they yielded about 40 grams so far, though I cut the stem just above the lowest nodes on each plant so there are a few buds left to harvest and I reckon they'll give another 5 g's or so. These plants started flowering back in june or july so they didn't have much time to put on height before that. If I had gotten them out right away at the beginning of the season they would have yielded significantly more. Proportionately though I'm pleased with the yield, the strains are unknown and I'm grateful for anything I get from them. They also smoke pretty good and are potent, though nothing spectacular in the smell department. Should have more pics of my other girls (and guys, there's a few white castle males I'm going to save pollen from and hopefully make a bit of seed for next year.) Hope you enjoy the pics!

Ok, here is a progression of curage. In the picture with the three nuggets the least cured is on the left moving to most cured on the far right. Also you might notice more and bigger trichs on the uncured nugget, that is becaue i let that one go longer and it appears that it needed the extra time to fully express its' crystal production, oh well, live and learn, the others are plenty sparkly as well!

Oh and thank you very much TotS, I repped you but I thought I had already said thanks, it's nice to have the payoff for all the hard work, and believe me it has been tough this year!

potted plants

potted plants

Here are some of my potted plants. Not sure how many there are total but there's a handful at least! I didn't put them in very big pots because they will not have a chance to get big enough to get rootbound this season. Some roots have been peeking out the bottoms though.

I don't know if you can see the file names for the images. But one is white castle close up. The other is a profile pic of 4 white castle girls. Another is a landscape pic of a whole group of potted plants including the white castles which are the furthest away and all the others are unknown bag seed. Then there is also a pic of my most vigorous white castle male which I'll use to inseminate some of my girls. Tomorrow I'll probably go clip off a bunch of his flowers in to a baggy and then inseminate lower branches as soon as they put out enough pistils to do so. Will post pics of the skunks and my other plots tomorrow hopefully. Cheers!

White Castle Pics

These are my three white castle girls along with a closeup of the one that is furthest along in flowering. They were started in june I believe and have not had the easiest life with me, but they're doing well all things considered.
