What's new

cannabis, hormones, and man tits!

Greeting everybody

I have recently been suffering from thyroid problems which has been diagnosed as either thyroiditis or hyperthyroidism. I have to wait for more blood tests to determine which it is. I was prescribed a drug called carbimazole to lower thyroid hormones and a beta blocker for anxiety/palpitations. I stopped these meds on doctors orders after a month as the thyroid was becoming under active. So, a couple of weeks after stopping the meds I started having pains and tenderness in my chest and to my great surprise I seem to have sprouted a pair of man tits!! (Mighty fine they are too I must add) I saw my doc who has sent me for more hormone tests (testosterone, prolactin etc). Now the thing is after doing a bit of research I found reports that this can happen with chronic cannabis users(which I am). My immediate reaction was that it's just reefer madness propaganda but I keep finding stuff online that says it can happen. Does anyone here have any experience of this? Am I worrying that I need to quit toking needlessly?
Thanks for reading and for any comments

I think its an old wives tale kind of like the soy one. if you could take in hormones via plant smoke I think the fire would ruin them

nah, my buddy in med school tried to tell me about how the only negative side affect of MJ is it screws your hormones. They feed them docs a load of BS so they don't buy into medical cannabis.

If anything, your thyroid issues are doing it... coupled with maybe too much munchies

i got a buddy that is a stoner just like me....he seems to be a little more well endowed than the average man (and I don't mean his dick)

that said if it was a cause and effect thing I should be sitting on a set of Double D's

i will see if I can get a shot of my friend for the contest....

You better get it sorted out before it gets bad, gynos not reversible.
Ask your Dr about starting on an anti E like nolvadex or arimidex, used by bodybuilders to stop from getting bitch tits(gyno) from steroids.

I had problems with gyno when I used to train and tried taking steroids (I didn't smoke back then). I haven't had problems as a daily smoker now (for more than 10 years).
Weed is known to suppress testosterone production, but the effect is too weak to cause any problems on its own. Thiroid malfunctioning is much more serious and is known to cause various hormone disbalances.
If you touch your breast around the nipples and you feel some sort of weak pain, then they are still growing and you need to take Nolvadex (half tab per day, very efficiently blocks estrogen receptors). Even if they get/are big, don't worry, there's quite easy cosmetic operation performed in most cosmetic surgeries that removes these fatty tissues that develop and give the volume of the breast.

Thc is a constitutional isomer(when two compounds that have the same chemical formula, but different connectivity of atoms) of progesterone

Estrogens are a well known group of steroid compounds that functions as the primary female sex hormone. Progesterone is part of this group, and is a steroid hormone that is secreted by the corpus leteum of the ovary and by the placenta, and regulates female reproductive functions together with estrogen. Progesterone also works to increase the willingness and frequency of copulatory activity (sex). A component of science not always recognized is called Constitutional isomers, which is when two compounds that have the same chemical formula, but different connectivity of atoms. This is very important because ones body may not tell the difference between two totally different chemicals. This is the case for THC, and Progesterone, who both are C21H30O2 (carbon 21; hydrogen 30; Oxygen 2). Tetrahydrocannabinol has the ability to work on neurochemical substrates normally activated by progesterone and may also work via cell-signalling cascades that activate progesterone receptors. In essences, THC has the ability to mimic progesterone in women to increase libido. When female rats are given THC they become much more receptive to the sexual attentions of males

Progesterone, in males, will actually convert to testosterone when needed, as progesterone is a precursor to testosterone. Progesterone can also help to eliminate estrogen in men, and can protect men from diseases, such as diseases associated with the prostate. In this manner, THC could theoretically increase the levels of testosterone, by simulating progesterone in the body, thus increasing a man’s libido.

That surgery is anything but easy, brutal is a better word for it.
Yeah it gets rid of it, but it costs about 4K + and hurts like a bitch for several weeks.
I never had any problems with it(gyno) but my buddy got it pretty bad, he had the Op for both sides a few years back, talking about how he was going to be training chest a week after and stuff, lol, he was laid up for two weeks and it was a full month before he could even think about doing any light chest lifts.

Get the Nolva or Arimidex now before it gets any worse.

I was actually trying to sound positive :) And when I said the operation is "quite easy" I meant it's easy surgical operation, I didn't mean you go out of the clinic all fine as if you had just your nails cut.
