SM-90 and Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) Compatibility

I have an issue with fungus gnats... here's what i'm wonderin,

I use SM-90 in my res at recommended rates (2-3mL per gallon), its not doing the trick. If I were to add Bacillus thuringiensis or Bt (sourced from mosquito dunks), would the SM-90 kill the Bt before it could be of use?

Any thoughts...

hi there, I can't put my hand on fire, but knowing the effect of triethanolamine, I would say yes, the Bt will have no chance.

Yea, I doubt it'll be effective, but I can't say for sure. I might wait until the next res change before using the dunks. Fungus gnats, for all their annoyance, are really more of a sign of a problem, then real threat to the garden. The dunks are the shit, though, and I personally prefer using beneficial bactos whenever possible.

Hmmmm....never thought it would hurt the BT, not trying to be a smartass at all, but do you have anything that would support your theory?

Honestly, I don't even know what Triethanolamine really is, is it the ammonia (Wiki) that would kill the bacteria?
