Plastic Outgassing Effecting Clones??

When I clone, I use several plastic, rubbermaid type containers to put the clones in. I've noticed that clones in 2 of the containers have a rough go of it and start to turn yellow, while those in the other container do just fine. With all the outgassing issues with grow tents a few years ago, I'm wondering if there's an outgassing issue with the containers.

Any thoughts??

Festi,

I had a tent that gave out bad gas before because of the plastic, just like you said, all my plants leave turn yellow, no def were found. After i took them out of the tent., just a few days later they turn back to their colours

hope that helps m8

btw i never had bad experiences with panda films, i think you can use those instead

also if you;re using rubber maid and clones are turning yellow, did they even root yet? i sometime have clones turn yellow because they rooted and have no nutes,

just a thought

cheers,
red.

Hi Red, yeah the clones root, but you can tell the plants are really struggling, and start to yellow within days. I'm pretty sure it has to do with how old the plastic containers are. I clone in rockwool plugs, ph adjusted and presoaked in a light flowering nute solution. Clones in other containers do fine, so I don't think it's from a lack of nutes.

Thanks for chimin' in buddy!:)
