two 600s

Alright.. I like to run less plants, vegd longer, in bigger containers.. i like to use 5gal bags or buckets..
I have two 600s..
I use to run a vertical setup u can see in my albums with one bulb over the other.. problem was the top bulb wasnt really used because the plants werent tall enough and i didnt have a second level..
so this time around i was planning a horizontal grow with a 3x6 for both 600s, or doing vertical again..
a stadium with both bulbs in the center side by side with two rows of plants on each side, all 5gal vegd for a while.. 4 main heads.. hardcore lolipop..

so, what size box would be optimal for this stadium? two 600s.. two rows of 5gal on each side of the bulb..so one shelf on each side.. i guess one shelf.. maybe three, if you guys think.. but id like to run bigger plants..

thanks for any and all suggestions!

why not grow your plants bigger so they can fill that top light more. or elevate half your plants a few feet up and do like a vertical scrog like marlo has going. that would fill your canopy out a bit. once i get this flush done, i'm going to flip the lights on a dozen monsters, in some big pots, all staggered around a vertical 600. before i've kept the pots small but i'm hoping that the extra veg and pot size will max out the yield on the light/space. whatever you do, post up some pics. it seems each vertical grow is slightly different than the other, we can all learn from each other.

thanks guys!
I would probably have better results with the bulbs side by side though right? instead of stacked..
still thinking of my different options..guess I could keep the bulbs stacked and run two different levels of plants.. one on the ground and one on milk crates... or I could seperate the bulbs and have them side by side and basically do the same thing.. one row of plants on floor and the ones behind them on crates.. like a stadium..

what do you all think?

don't quote me on this but i believe two bulbs stacked on top of each other is more efficient than side by side. all depends on how well you fill the space. northern farmer stadium's are the shit but usually they have 4+ bulbs and lots of plants. a 6'x6x6' tent with 2x600watts would be the shit. once the summer heat is over, i'm planning on running a 400 CMH with a 600 HPS as soon as i can get another tube and a better fan. 1000 watts, 12 trees in flower, 2+pounds each cycle is the goal i'm after.

tip on the milk crates....they are behind almost every restaurant, they usually belong to the dairy and produce companies so the restaurants are not that guarded about them. beats paying $3 a piece at target.

If you go by Heath Robinsons grows, and most do :) he recommends 600w in a 4' x 4' foot around a 600w bulb. The plants can get to around 6 - 8" away from as long as your hand can handle the heat from the bulb @ that distance.

Keep us updated on this... I'm currently mulling between giving something similar a try in a 8 x 4 tent but I'll only use the 4 x 4 space...

Sunnydog a member here ran 2kw in a 6' x 6' tent and got over 4# with 60 plants in 2 gallon pots of organic mix... He used cooltubes, but I read that they're not really necessary if you've got the extraction set up properly.

i ran two 6s stacked and ive run them side by side.. currently im doing a stadium with 1 600 slightly lower than the other and its working nicely. two rows on each side of the bulbs..

Smallest space I've used for 2 bare 600s is about 4.5 ft x 7ft, 6in vortex handles the exchange

Any pics of that relentless... do you mean you have the lights in a diagonal line or near that... How many plants did you end up running?

ya theres a pic of the stacked bulbs in my albums somewhere, think it has its own album. ill get some new pics of my new setup soon. actually running 14 5gal. 6 on the left, 6 on the right.. one infront and one behind..
first time i ran the stacked bulbs i ran the two 600s in a 4.6x4.6x6.6 homebox xl tent.. now im running them side by side in a 3.7x6.1x8 closet. in the summer(about 100* and high humidity outside) were mid 70s at "day" and low to high 60s during the "night".. all due to a 6" fan in the attic sucking the heat out, and the houses main ac is plumbed to go right into the closet when the ac turns on.. works well.

Hey Relentless, I recently switched from hanging my 1000 and 600 from side by side to stacked in my 6'X6'X8' flower room and am loving it. I have 4 girls in 6 gal sq pots and 4 girls in 3 and 4 gal containers. Whn I stacked my bulbs I added a single row of shelving about a foot above the bottom plants(this was done about 3 weeks after the bottom were switched 12/12). U can see pics in my sig if u like. I would like to add that i dont run any a\c as its cooling down here mid 70's f day to low 40's night, with a 6' vortex pulling directly above the lights exhausting straight outside, 2 6" passive intakes from crawl space. lights on temp running after 5pm here to 5am of 78f, lights off can get low if I dont set a heater. Oh and reflectix on everything but the floor and its bright as hell.

Didnt realise i typed so much, but u get the point im sure, I should say this is my first vert run also, prior to this I've had two horizontal harvest's that this current vert run looks like its going to destroy yeild wise. I'm also mainly a soil grower. Hope something here helps man I'm sure you will kill it with what ever u decide on, but it sure helps to b able to check out all of the great grows posted here on ICMAG
