What if I leave while curing ?

Hi guys,
I'm going in holidays in a few days, and I got some dried buds, some have been in curing jars for about a week and some are still finishing to dry. As I can't take the jars with me, I was wondering what I should expect from it.
Can I leave them for 10 days then continue the curing without any problems ? Is there a serious risk to get mold ?
Finally, if someone got a trick to cure while being away, hit me !

cheers :tiphat:

put your buds in a can, in a well ventilated room not to bright and over the can/jar put a mesh and leave it,this way all the moisture will vanish and your buds will be well aerated.Note that this method must not take longer than 10 days otherwise you can loose some of the smell!!

Your specific situation would benefit from the curing thread in my sig. It doesn't sound like you have enough time to get your hands on a good hygrometer, but it's something to keep in mind for next time.

If the flowers are sufficiently dry as to feel slightly moist to the touch and remain that way for a few days while jarred (and not burped), and the stems are starting to snap, the odds are that you can leave the jars sealed for 10 days, if you keep them in a relatively cool environment. The bud that hasn't finished drying is a problem. There are a few options, albeit not great, but it's hard to recommend something without knowing the state of the product. Last thing I'd want to see is a failed harvest. Good luck.

If your stems won't snap cleanly, and they sorta tear or peel off, then you can't leave em sealed in a jar for 10 days without fear of mold...
These buds, I'd leave in a jar, with the lid off, or just placed half-way across the top...

Thank you guys for your answers.
Unfortunately it was to late for me to read it, I was already gone, so i'm just reading it now. So I did jar the buds before leaving, some were not dry enough for the stems to clearly snap but they looked almost ready though. I left them 10 days and the good new is i didn't get any mold whatsoever.
I've read the curing thread (at least the main post...) but I'm not sure I get it right, as my english is far for being perfect. With a cheap hygrometer, i get a RH somewhere between 55 and 60% in the jars, does it mean it will cure even if i leave them closed all the time ?

If you're using a Caliber, the jar can and should stay closed. If it's another hygrometer, can't really tell.

why not jar it and put it in the fridge? wont cold prevent mold until you can properly dry them?

i realize this is late lol
