so how does one keep auto flower trait going when making seeds ??? can you take sour 60 male and sour 60 female and make auto seeds directly or do you have to do something special????

nothing special as long as the female and the male are both 100% af their offspring will be 100% af :)

if you do that if i am correct very few to prob none would autoflower. I could be wrong but I think it take a bit to carry over the autoflowering trait.

i think if you cross a regular male plant with a female auto then you should be safe as the auto trait is already their

but if you corss a male auto with a female regular then the trait is lost

hmm I've read somewhere about crossing and there was an whole article about that 1st offspring will be non AF second generation of that cross would show some rare AF plants and go on go on there would be in some generation X domination of AF plants.

If im wrong sorry ;]

Cheers

And Btw. Hi :D

AF x NON-AF = F1 NON-AF

Inbreeding above F1's will result is roughtly 25% F2 AF offspring
inbreeding those will give you 50%.......75%.....99.9?%

Yep its something like that and it takes much work to make an AF strain of popular non AF and it will have like 10% to 20% of orignal genetics from the non AF

If i remembre it was written in Breeding Marihuana Horticulture its great lecture btw

does it matter which way round you do it ???

if i had a blue cheese male and crossed it with a female auto would the seeds not be auto, cause the female already has the auto trait??

if thats the case is it better to pollinate 2 auto females with regular pollen and then cross their offsprings to produce a new auto blue cheese strain?

Yea I doubt it bro if anything I think the auto trait is carried by the male. I don't think that would help much. But I could be wrong lol wouldn't be the first time.

I dont think it matters which way round you do it but you wont get autos in your F1's unless your blue cheese has auto genetics in it, if you wanted to make a blue cheese strain (or any other) you would do what i said in my first post when you get to F4 you need to back cross to the original non af (your blue cheese in this case) repeat the first steps F1 to fully auto F4, then repeat all steps a few more times, like with the auto trait coming through with each inbreeding 25% - 50% - 75%...... your bluecheese will come accross to the auto you crossed with with each back crossing.

ICC has (had?) a great thread on breeding well worth reading before you start your research

and original post - yes auto x auto = auto

This is a subject that interest me a lot but I am still trying to wrap my brain around all of the terms used in cannabis breeding.
