bonjourbonjour

PLEASE MY FRIENDS DON'T USE ANTI DEPRESSANTS . In fact the use of any man made medicine is not a great idea. The use of Advil and other drugs prescribed or not is just causing you more problems. My mother has been using pills for headaches and back pains for the last 20 years. I have tried and tried to stop her from using them but what the drug does is hide the pain for a while, but eventually returns and now your body will not create anything to counter the pain because it is getting used to pills.

I was in an car accident when I was 16 and had major migraine headaches which lasted a few years and now have stopped. I never used any medication my doctor told me to use instead I used to eat a few oranges and my headache went away within minutes. I do not know if the Vit C helped in ridding the headache or it was just that I trained my self to think that eating this orange will rid my headache.

I recently had a back injury at work (demolition and framing) and I injured my back. An xray showed a slipped disc hitting my nerves. I was unable to stand for more then 2 min before having a huge pain which I had to lay down to get rid of. So I was essentially bed ridden for a month. After going to physio therapy everyday for 2 weeks I noticed no difference. I was offered a prescription which a did buy and it cost me 145 dollars for a 2 week supply. I took one pill and really it did nothing. So i stopped taking them. I searched the net for back pain remedies and found that stretching your back everyday laying a flat hard surface and hot showers are helpful. So I just hit the bong stretched and took hot showers and what you know the pain gradually got less and less daily when eventually it reached a point where the pain was so minimal that I was not noticing it. Now I have been working out my back and increasing my back muscle so I dont have another back injury.

Well the point of this story was to let people know that the use of Pills is not needed, instead their are herbal remedies for almost all problems humans face today

Ya well, I 've never had a migraine that just "went away".....Just saying that there is no one cure fits all and sometimes some people really do need meds...I fi didn't take meds for them I would be away so many days a month that I'd lose my job. I lose the days pay every time I'm away. I literally would also lose my residence since I wouldn't be able to pay rent.

Mind over matter.
Changed cognitive schemas, very awesome self revelational tendencies, bonjour to you too.

Vitamin C does help headaches.
Stretching and excersice are amazing things.
We have a sun, the sun heals many things. Or helps things grow which can heal.

This should not be overlooked as it is an almost instinguishable source for humanity of hope in a healing strength.

As I have adopted this conceptualization I have found it has brought me closer to nature, and natural techniques such as mentioned by bonjour. It has helped open my mind to free thought... which has healed me the most
Acceptance of Self, as is- unammended.
It may not be the version society wants but it is whom I am regardless.

Depression can be fought off with light therapy and excercise - and I do believe it has been found by a few studies to be just as efficacious as many of the medications normally prescribed for similar symptoms.

Vitamin C cant hurt as diet has the biggest influence on our mood states during regular situations, and nutarally occuring in the cheerful color of orange is bound to help.

Good Karma to All

Hey KG

I think it must be mentioned that though there are many cases - where the meds are important for healing the critical part is that they help long term and dont just make the headeache worse when one doesnt have them.

Also many of the medications we have which are efficacous come from plant extracts and so it would be critical to show that a plant can possibly procure a medication which in its natural form can be more helpful to long term healing.

Even penicillin comes from nature and human blunder. I mean most meds do. The thing is when they are not regulated bz the people and are overly refined they can have a negative effect on our bodies.

For example I need carbohydrates to be healthy and happy and get things done, yes.
Though i am not happy when I am offered mostly refined and proccessed foods at my local store and gas station- IOW someone should be working on finding healthy cures from classic pains and making sure persons know the choices na deffects of those choices.

Chews on a valerian root and thinks about this...

Cheers

For some psychiatric conditions YOU must take some medication along Cannabis.

Some of us were born with "missing parts" and there is no way to comprehend the suffering until people actually walk in our shoes... year after year...

The proper medication at the proper dosage can give you your life back.

Cannabis boosts the effects of some medication while helping with side effects.

on um for 3 years. and no ill effect at all. if anything it helped more... with less meds.. but certain meds will do different things, and every body's chemistry is different... so its a trial thing... be careful with any MIO inhibitors!!! those are DANGER!!!

every ones different. especially old drug addicts who have messed up their chemistry, or if your doctor had you on heavy narcotics daily for years.. your brain chemistry gets screwed for some people. and this is a necessity to live.. if you feel suicidal, depressed, and need help. SEEK IT!!! Don't wait... you owe it to yourself to be happy!

Peace And love.

Edit. I did. Dr. Jay advised me too 3 years ago. and here i am, back on my feet, 10 times stronger than i was! Now what! Bring it! haha i love life!

Sure everyones different..... even though we are made up of the same exact body parts.

If you are a "drug addict" then maybe a good detox and cleanse should be the first priority. There are great products out there that will help you detox your body which includes product you eat, drink, bath in, and inhale. After a long detox time to clean your body by using water go a few months of high water intake including intense cardio that will make you sweat, just sweat out all the bad shit. After that don't use drugs (pills, crack, ext) instead teach yourself to heal yourself by boosting your immune system their are many Herbel medicines that you can try and one will work for you. If your too lazy and dont care about your own health then go fuck yourself and take a pill.

hey all, i was recently put on anti-depressants and after chatting to my shrink he said that though he has no issues with my use of marijuana occasionally, that using it too often (ie. everyday) will disrupt the effects of the drugs. this isn't a big issue has i only smoke once or so a week at most, but i'm just wondering if people out there can shed some light on experiences they or people they know have had with marijuana while on anti-depressants, whether good or bad experiences. i'm also wondering if anyone recommends specific strains that are more appropriate for people on anti-depressants than others, i'm guessing ones with high levels of CBD? but yeah feel free to discuss anything here i'm just curious what people can share :D cheers

Dude...I'm not a psychiatrist but you need to get off those medications asap! Believe me bro, you will regret it later on. I was on them way back & they messed me up (antidepressants do this to 90% who take them) I quit taking them (lexapro, wellbutrin, paxil) 4 years ago & I still have the withdrawal symptoms. If I did not have cannabis, I would most likely hang myself because of the side effects. Research antipsychotic and antidepressant medications or check out these sites: http://www.ssristories.com and http://www.cchrint.org

sorry mate but i'm going to go with what my doctor and psychiatrist have prescribed for me... the ones i'm on aren't that addictive, lol and mate, before i was on these things i was contemplating killing myself on a daily basis while in my anxiety and depression slumps so getting off them is probably not going to help me much at all.... i'd rather deal with the side effects of these drugs, and if i choose to get off them later their withdrawals than end up much much much worse without them.... they work amazingly well for plenty of people, though yes there're still people out there that they affect badly, but it's the same with any drug... even marijuana.

Ok...just warning you bro to be helpful. At least go check out those sites I posted. If you start taking them, you 'will have to take them for the rest of your life'. Good luck & I hope you can get better. Believe me, I know what you're going thru. Peace...

Not true...I was on Celexa for a few years, no side effects and no effects when I stopped.

Ojo...You are spot on. Earlier this year I felt like I did get my life back. I was having migraines once or twice a week. My boss let me know she understood, but couldn't keep me if I wasn't there doing my job. Fair enough. I also had no social life. I switched my meds around and for the first time in 30 years I can go a month without a migraine. A whole month! that is eternity to me! I've spent my whole life with chronic migraines. I have modified my diet and excercise, tried herbal remedies almost everything. Nothing ever worked. I feel like I've never felt before. :D

Years ago my doc put me on prozac , i quit them after a month as they made me agitated, also when smoked with cannabis i had an unaturally happy feeling which was creepy and hard to explain like a robotic effect , cannabis works better for me as the only medication apart from other herbal remedies, end of the day the pharma companies are there to make just cash i dont trust them one bit. If you want the ultimate antidepressant just get sam the skunkmans ORIGINAL HAZE X SKUNK#1 ...imo impossible to get depressed while smokin that...though you may go a lil hyper...but im sure a pack of deep chunk will sort out that problem!:)

Yes...some people have no problems with these drugs. Then there are those whos symptoms are made worse (while on them) and once they quit taking them, their symptoms are intensified x10. You have to take them for over a year for them to mess you up like this. I'm not making this up, for I have plenty experience in this field. I have family members who work in psychiatric units (and one who works in a mental institute in Decatur, AL.) Plus, I've been in those places myself. Research like I said. Yes, depression is horrible....but your brain chemistry is not something to be tampered with lightly. Be very careful on what advise you give these people who have it.

Prozac and Bipolars

Prozac and Bipolars

If you are Bipolar, Prozac is not recommended since it can (most likely) trigger manic episodes.

Since this is a Medical Forum I would advice that if any member have valid objections against any medication please submit factual data and studies.

Sending affected and sick folks away from medication is VERY irresponsible.

Also, if you are not MMJ...

I will take your advice with a grain of salt.

yeah, and it is VERY irresponsible to tell people things when YOU do not know the factual data and studies... what I say is not personal speculation but FACTS known by millions of people buddy

Good for you!

Effexor is extremely addictive... hell, might as well do Opiates!

Did you know that Tramadol / Ultram (Opiate) is very, very similar in structure to Effexor?

Some folks use Tramadol to easy the withdrawal from Effexor.
