Reading your post, I have a few questions. It says you have a hole in the wall with a fan now, but is it an inline fan or an axial?

Do you have a blower now at all? If not, get a good one now, along with a carbon filter.

If you have an inline fan already, I would go for a cooltube, as mine dropped my temps by around 6 degrees, which would bring you down to the low 80s, which is much better. It also doesn't use any power like an aircon would.

Last question, at the end you say you're going from a 400 to a 1000 watt light soon? Without adequate ventilation and cooling beforehand, a 1000 watt lamp won't get you any increased yield, just low quality fried bud. I would recommend sorting your ventilation completely (meaning running in the upper 70s at lights on) and you'll see a much better improvement over adding more light and heat to an already over-warm area.

Hope this helps!

Get a blower! When it comes time to flower you'll need a carbon filter, and you'll need a blower to move the air through it. I'd get a 5" inline fan, that way when you eventually move up to the 1000w you can use the 5" as an intake and get an 8" extract. this fan will be really loud though, so if stealth is important to you, you'll have to either build a fan/duct silencer or go the Panasonic Whisperfan route.

One thing I've learned in growing over the years is that environment and air exchange is just as (if not more) important than light intensity. The bud grown in a lower light room with perfect temps and air movement will be better than the bud is a bright, hot, stagnant environment. If you can get your temps down to 78, you'll be producing more than enough bud to smoke and the quality will be excellent.

Depending on your space, but you should be okay with an 8" for the 1000 as long as you use a powered intake (like the 5").

What are your dimensions and ambient air temps right now?
