any adjustments from 400 tp 1000 hps

when usin lc's mix and recipe #1?...got lucky and bought a 1000 watt hps sun system today for $45 and cant wait to get started with it...i've gotten better and better reults with this stuff but realize that the bigger lights might take more out of it...with the 400 i've only gave plants some compost,manure,and molasses tea a few times....what is yer experience?

I would hope that it's a switchable ballast so you can switch bulbs and utilize the MH spectrum in veg....and the HPS in flower.
1000 watter's kick ass...I have 4. Things will get bigger if given the right amount of root space...which means bigger pots and more of the soil mix,no difference in what's in it. Once you start running 1000 watter's your life changes.

I couldn't go back to 400w anything after running 2k this year, will be shifting to 4k soon, life changes is right....

I don't know your setup but my hoods are air cooled and I found 18-20 inches from the canopy is where I keep it.

Get yourself a Hortilux Full Spectrum bulb. You will not need anything else in Veg or Flower.

Your plants will love the 1k. I used to run 2k in America. Works wonders on the yield.

it's not switchable..i'm gonna veg with fluoros right now..

Hit the lights!
I have always used a mix of MH and HPS in flower. Both types of bulbs enhanced spectrum....I've noticed the differences between them due to this. The plants in between both light spectrum's that overlap always do better.

It's a light changing experience.....
I've never had to cool my lights,but that's not to say when it's 90+ outside for a week I don't water every day.

Actually it really doesnt compare. The difference between an enhanced spectrum bulb and running supplemental lights is not the same.

Thats why i run CMH.I'd run supplental lights to get rid of dark spots, not to enhance spectrum. You get more power per the given nm using HID. A nice full spectrum like the EYE HOtrilux doesnt compare to the peakiness of a floro.

the bulb thats in my sun system says ...eye hortilux lu1000...B/htl..../en....usa.......it doesnt say hps on it..

went to that site and it said this is a super hps and gives 25% more energy in violet,blue and green spectrum..i appreciate all you fellers help tryin to figure out what i've got..(bought whole thing at habitat of humanity)

The HPS will veg ok, but you will be amazed by the heat difference. better start looking for a deal on an 8" fan.

do you mean a fan to take air out of the room?...with the 400 watt i just had a big window fan in the window blowin toward the plants...a vertical bare bulb 400 hps...it was already high 80's in there with lights on...(at night)

1 1000 watt will require some form of ventilation. 1 1000 watt in a closed typical spare room will put temps up around 90 or quite possibly over 100.

Unless your in Florida you'd be looking at 110*. I was at 103* back when i had my 400w in a closet no ventilation. Felt like i was sleeping in hell. Didnt take ong to get a 500cfm Dayton blower...
