So here is my question I've, had three run's in my 4x4 silver edition hydro hut. I was running a 1000 W Lumatek ballast that died on me after about 800hrs of use. So now I'm running a 1000w xtrasun E ballast, Eco Plus 6-inch inline fan, and the light is housed in a Sun System cool sun reflector. I'm not running any intake in my system, nor am i running any air purification. So any of you guys running any 4x4 huts and have it dialed let me know what i can do to improve my conditions. I also am looking at this fan to replace my current one which is quite noisy here is a link http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=46408 and for air purification http://www.htgsupply.com/viewproduct.asp?productID=52544.

thanks in advance for any advice or links :watchplant:

4x4 E&F tray, SOG. Hands down the easiest and fastest way to big yields.

I have done 5 gallon buckets of soil, 1 gallon grow bags of soil, 1 gallon grow bags of coco, 3 gallon grow bags of coco and then the aforementioned ebb and flow.
I have done hydroton in 5.25 squares and in beds and am currently doing coco in squares and smart pots.
This is my favorite thus far, ebb & flow with smart pots full of coco. The only thing is with the smart pots you can't really cram them in there like true SOG.

If yields are what you are after and you want to do it under a 1K, then plant 49-63 clones and veg appropriately for strain.
I like to run a double layer of Pico's trellis...maybe 18" apart. That way you never have to worry about tying them up.

^^^ebb&flow tray + coco + smartpots =THE FUCKIN WIN

if you are gonna do a sea of green, just use the 6" square plastic pots, you can fit more of them...

however im a fan of Canna coco and 2gal smartpots, arranged in a square, 3x3 or 4x4, and vegged into a screen..

whether you SOG or ScrOG, the trick is to have a full, even canopy before you flip to 12/12..

I never did try the 4x4 E&F tray I had, when I was using a similar room. Always thought height was going to be a problem with it. As for the noise from your Eco fan, I used insulated ducting for my Vortex fan, worked out pretty good. Although Ive never heard an Eco fan running in person.
