TC2010/Prop 19 unlikely to pass (new poll results)

Perhaps due to the threat of the Rand Institutes dubious article on $1.50 joints (weed at $38/oz) or voter apathy, support for TC2010 has fallen from a high of 56% to 44% in support. Several sources have said that unless support begins in the mid-sixties a bill is unlikely to pass anyway, but here is the latest Field poll and their results.

http://www.field.com/fieldpollonline/subscribers/Rls2342.pdf

I believe these numbers will also show in November that the older, conservative generations are still more reliable voters than the majority of the younger/stoner counterculture, but if I'm wrong please be sure to refer me back to this article for my comeuppance.

Have a great week folks, stay high and happy.

The industries and groups who profit directly or indirectly from cannabis being illegal will lose big with decriminalization (pharmaceutical corporations, police, the prison industry, right wing controllers, the media, the religious right etc) these pricks haven't even started trying to begun to make sure they will win.

a week or two before the voting date, if there is even a slight chance that this might get voted in, there will be a "cannabis death" , guaranteed it will be a white teenage girl ..if not a death, it will be some other shocking incident "caused by cannabis" and with the subsequent media's lies, bias and hysterics will kill any chance of it passing.

Voting yes and promoting it to the fullest extent. I'm donating a lot of traffic from several of my large high-ranking Alexa blogs and getting a tshirt/sign for my yard. I'm also going out in the field and educating the ignorant, the fence riders, the hysterics, (basically the people above) into voting yes.

It will pass, we're still in the early phases and there are a lot of skeptics and people who are in shock about it.

If it hits ballot, it's in.. Thats what all my friends pretty much agree on. Not everyone is a grower, a doctor, a co-op owner, a cop, a priest, or a pastor. In fact, majority of CA aren't these things. It has a good chance of passing at least by slim majority.

That's why I urge you guys to IGNORE the media. Rand is BS.. they are paid by Public Safety First to cause voter hysteria.

Stop listening to the media and being pawned. Just tap Y for yes when it's time. You know the drill.

I explained this on weedtracker (greedtracker?) this morning when the no voting bitches were coming forward with their ill-founded arguments and their selfish 'but im only 18 and i wanna smoke but cant cuz i have to be 21' nonesense.

1. A chance at legalization wont come again for 4 to 10 years. We'll have to either wait for a lot of dinosaur conservative lawmakers to get termed out or finally put something together for us - could take a decade - and will have even more commercial interests in it than now. 4 Years for another ballot measure, and Mr. Lee said he's not going to foot the bill again.
2. Just get it over with now!
3. Hysterics - your prices wont drop. You will have to stay competitive and produce good product to stay afloat.
4. Jack Herer - What a great man was he. When he died, was probably with a smile on his face knowing this is a very progressive time and he probably died in peace knowing that legalization was coming. By voting no, Jack essentially rolls over in his grave for you and you are stealing from that peaceful rest. You are basically a traitor to this movement and a greedy sellout. Bottom line.

Right now interest groups are manipulating the media to stir voter confidence on the proposition.

I urge you to ignore and render yourself immune from the media, and tap Y for yes when it is time.

again

Y for yes when it is time

again

Y for yes when it is time

Or else you won't see legalization in your lifetime.

And I never want to hear one of you bitches complain about it being illegal again

Not this year. Richard Lee jumped the gun. 2012 will see Cali, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Colorado all up for vote. I believe that 3 of the five will pass then. Obama will be up for re-election so all of the Dems will be out in force. I beleive Mr. Lee was told that this would not work this year, but you never know unless you try. Who knows we could be wrong, and it passes this year. It would be one of those times that you don't mind being wrong.:)

Very Good News. This Bill is Majorly flawed!

Peron, co-author of Proposition 215, cites three "fatal flaws" in the Oaksterdamn U initiative . These can be described as limits, taxes, and penalties regarding minors.

Regarding the limits of one ounce and 25 square feet for personal cultivation:

"Imagine a law to “tax and regulate” alcohol that only allows for possession of up to one bottle of wine imprisoning those who exceed that amount, be it two bottles or a small collection of choice vintages. These limits guarantee confusion, harassment and black marketeering forevermore. We don’t control alcohol by imposing a 25 sq. foot limit on grape vines. But one extra gram or sq. foot of pot means jail and even worse; this initiative specifies that if accused of having too much cannabis the burden of proof is on you, not the state."

Regarding taxes:

"Singling out those who want to use marijuana for a huge excise tax is just plain unfair. It maintains cannabis as the most expensive, blatantly overpriced product on the market thus forcing most people to choose cheaper, more dangerous drugs with huge externalized costs to society as a whole."

Regarding minors:

"Sending teenagers to state prison for three years for pot is evil. This initiative mandates that 18, 19, and twenty year old minors serve three to seven year terms in California state prison for the crime of passing each other a joint or selling one another a small amount. Under this law if a 21 year old person passes a joint to a 20 year old he or she goes to county jail for six months. Likewise this measure has no exceptions for parents in their own homes from the “smoking cannabis in any space while minors are present” prohibition. We don’t lock up parents for having a glass of wine with dinner and we certainly don’t tell the kids to leave the house for the purpose of consuming any other substance so why start with cannabis?"

Peron vows that if the proponents "buy" enough signatures to get the initiative on the ballot he will campaign against it:

"This initiative is bad for parents, students and, ultimately, the effort to get the state to stop ruining lives enforcing these draconian pot laws. Initiatives create permanent statutes. This one with its petty restrictions for personal users, prohibitive unfair taxes, and mandatory state prison sentences for teen agers need be nipped in the bud. We will campaign and vote against it should its proponents succeed in purchasing the necessary number of signatures to put it on the 2010 ballot. The tax revenue it will supposedly generate is a mere smokescreen for the kids it will regulate into three, five and seven year state prison sentences."

VOTE NO!

I wonder if Dennis P viewpoint would differ if he wasn't against recreational mj, as anytime I see this statement of his, all I can think is back to those conversations with him where he was dead against any type of recreational usage effort.

This Rand thing, what do these egghead type bean counters really know outside of media manipulation?

I can't see anyone swinging Oz's for $38 bucks, thats a price straight out of their article, not even for outdoor, why not just give it away for a tax write off, as you are not making $$$ off of $38bucks no matter how many #'s you sell unless you're really dumb enough to risk federal jail time for nothing gained... why not just go to the federal building and throw rocks at the cops and run away and see if they can catch you, over and over after being caught a few times to see if you can go to jail.

Anybody that thinks people would sell an oz for that price when all they simply had to do would be to take a trip east and sell it for more is just not in the mj business loop what so ever.

Sensationalist headline much?

"The survey was conducted June 22-July 5 among 1,005 likely voters in California’s upcoming November general election. To enable the poll to more closely examine the preferences of the state’s racial/ethnic voter populations, the survey was conducted in six languages and dialects – English, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean and Vietnamese."

Right, THAT'S an accurate representation of the CA public

"Voters age 18 – 29 age are supporting the marijuana initiative 52% to 39%."

Do you really believe that just half of this age group wants legalization? A more accurate poll would find at least 70% of young voters in favor, imo.

November is still a loooonggg way off, so those who don't want this to pass, go out there and get it shot down, those who want it to pass, go out there and spread the word. At this stage in the game it can easily go either way.

And anyone who votes No has nothing to complain about when they're arrested.

Well there is the problem isn't it. You are validating the arrests and imprisonment of this community.

Voting has nothing to do with it. This is a NATURAL RIGHTS / PERSONAL FREEDOM issue.

No person has the right to vote up or down the HUMAN RIGHTS of another.

Tyranny of the majority is evil and something voted for by the populace can only stand so long as it does not infringe on the HUMAN RIGHTS of others.

Choosing who to marry, who to screw, and what to do with your body aren't items for popular vote.

The government needs to get away from telling people how to live their lives and we need to get back to recognizing the FREEDOMS of all our neighbors.

I am no problem with full legalization. If it is truly that. I am voting No in Oregon. Not because I am a greedy bitch that wants all the money to myself. I don't want to see the 5 greedy bastards who are behind the Oregon bill to take over the states cannabis supply. That's right Or-norml....We can see your shitty plans. Vote no in Oregon if you love cannabis.

young people should not be smoking, and people should not be smoking infront of children. if anything you should eat the weed and thats perfectly fine. anything damaging to the body should not occur infront of children as it sets a bad example. (including tobacco smoke) drinking a moderate amount is fine, just like eating a moderate amount of weed.

regarding taxes, would you pay to grow your own??? should you, when making your own alcohol is free???

Hey Einstein!

OrNORML's initiative is dead! Hell, it never got off the ground.
I-28 (OGF. Voter Power) made the ballot, the one OrNORML was against!

fkin scary if YOU are a sample of Oregon's voters.

You no voters make me sick.

F**K the med mj industry seriously, they are the hysterics that are hurting the passage of this initiative.

Traitors! All of you.

We'll never see a shot at industrialization/legalization of this herb in our lifetime again if this doesn't pass.

If we do it will be at least a decade!

It's SIMPLE:
Vote Yes on 19

Let's end the medical MJ scam and truly regulate and free this weed, create more corporations, increased tourism, BETTER STANDARDS OF PRODUCTION (this is one of the main reasons growers are voting No, they know it means they will have to produce good products to stay competitive - no big fat stems, no airy buds, etc). It's all good for the consumer. Only hurts the rich and greedy, the cops, the religious zealots, etc.

All sane and normal people again:
Vote Yes on 19

Dennis' opinion, along with mine, is that every hit off a joint is for medicinal use whether you think so or not.. He even talks about it in this 4 part video about tc2010: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cz3jj3Itvog

sadly this bill is a funnel for high profits to the GOV they just cant keep their hands out of the (marijua$a) cookie jar. Seems like a web of responsibilities that are way to easy to break resulting unfavorable consequences for voters. On a good note top shelf pot will always carry a top shelf price .. theres no substitute for perfection
