They aren't psychoactive mushrooms. And could be poisonous they almost look amanita with the bulb at the base. Take a spore print it will probably be rusty colour. What you want to be looking for are P.subaeruginosa

Nomiss, you may indeed be correct on that one, I have memories where cow pats would push out massive 10cm diameter cubensis mushrooms, and the blue meanies would be lucky to be 5cm in diameter. (copenlandia cycances).

I hope they didn't make you sick Craven and they were the reall deal, either way i've seen people get sick from the cubensis and copenlandia regardless. ONe trip goes well, the next week the same mushrooms from the same location leave people in drug induced states of psychosis or toxity.

be careful :)

Yep, can't wait for it to heat up again for cope season. There seems to be no cubes in the area for a few seasons now. It sucks that the NSW subs are weak as piss so there isn't much point in getting them.
I have a feeling what Craven has are Cortinarius of some kind.

the first time I experienced Panaeolus cyanescens was probably the ideal friendly house, 5-6 people already mushied so we know dose from their experience and we have great music.

after what might have been 40 minutes we found ourselves in an amazing conversation, everyone in the house contributing and talking, so unlike that hpouse normally, when I noticed my quieter friend sitting smiling listening to the techno that was on and I remember saying to him, "hey Richo, are you vegging out already? haha, open your eyes you copout" and he replies, "no man, close your's".

So I closed mine and WTF!!! it was like turning on TV, inside your head!!! I saw this neverending flow of images, like a river, goddesses and temples, astrological symbols and just felt everything was circular and beautiful.

And it is.

I'm with Benji on that one, was a damn good trip report, you should forward that to Howard Marks, so he can put it in his book he has been working on, centred around trip reports.

Badabing1 - Yes, cubes and copes((Panaelous)Copelandia cyanescens) in warmer months. Just a little detail that may or may not matter. In the winter you want P.subs in woodchips/leaf litter.

Hah, post #3 disappeared so it looks like I am talking to myself.

yep we had a fave woodchip patch up the road from my home, that when the weather was nice and light rain/misty we'd go looking around lunchtime, in May, and 5 times out of 10 there they'd be :)

In this area I usually find the transition from field to forrest is around March/April with occasional exceptions would love to be in SA at the moment. There are also some awesome edibles to be found down south. Lactarius (Saffron milk caps), Pleurotus (Oysters) and Sullius (Slippery Jacks) are out in the cold and even Amanita muscaria (Fly Agaric/Wonderland mushroom) are known to be good eats if the Ibotenic acid is boiled off, similar flavour enhancer to MSG.

the other interesting bit of knowledge that stuck with me from my mushy days.....

the visuals you get to see are enhanced if you brew the shrooms and make a tea/coffee/cocoa berage, as this has alot to do with absorption rate, if you eat them you still get alot of effects but for incredible visuals, drink it

I did read it online somewhere, not 2nd hand info passed on via mull-bowl gurus hehe
