Vertical pll in a pc case with scrog/lst

Pll's has been done in pc case's horizontally so why not vertically. it would save the wasted lumens that are usually lost through use of a reflector (yeilding a good extra few grams). 3 x 24 watts (each bulb being 12inches long) in a pc case, cooled by a pc fan (or two).

vertical pll's surrounded by some chicken wire(or something similair with smaller holes), scrog plant and flower. sounds so simple

im not planning anything like this, but it just popped into my brain, i do appoligise if its been mentioned already

You brought it up so you gotta do it. :)

Definitely something that needs to be done. Yields may increase significantly.

it is being done currently by a few people...i think only one is currently operable. just search vertical pl-ls in the micro section. the threads are very cool!

I have LEDs overhead in 2x2 foot tent. I plant to put plls in two diagonal corners with reflectors to increase yeild and height.

thehappyguy:True but not in a pc case? unless there is already in which case could you post the link as the numbers of grows using pll's are limited.

yesum: why not in the middle? that way your not wasting energy reflecting the light. a little shield around the bulbs and some small fans for ventilation (if its even needed).

pll's are the way foward in terms of fluorescents though. compact and pack a punch. relatively cheap if you know where to look

Instead of chicken wire around the pll's to keep the plants from touching them use the plastic protective tubes from t12 fluro's as a cool tube like others are doing.

I am currently doing a vertical pll grow. My cab is a lot bigger than a pc though. I would be interested in seeing others do it.

i thought about this but the plastic protector will eat a chunk of lumens vs using chicken wire and fan blowing up alone, i've seen and read you can get plants pretty close to pll's (with a fan blowing up) without the plants burning so i dont 'think' a cooltube type protector is neccersary, only a little chicken wire and a fan to ensure buds dont burn.
