As far as bacteria, there are a few that can grow in anerobic environments like foodsaver bags. Botulism is one; if you had that and toked it you would pretty much die in minutes I think.
I don't know if you can get botulism that way. Botulism is caused by toxins produced by bacteria, not the bacteria themselves. But I guess smoking a toxin isn't a great idea. Burning might make the toxin inert, or it might not.

It's an interesting question though - what are the health risks specific to smoking product after mid to long term storage (more than a week)?

i have noticed in certain strains, patricularly st3 that after a month or so of curing the bud "limes". that i s the term i gave it. it looses its sweetness and gets sort of sour smelling. potency is the same just the flavour character changes. good none the less.
That sounds more like what I was seeing. I saved one bag, threw the other away. I might smoke some of it just to see what it's like. But yeah, I believe I did leave some air in the bag thinking that by doing so it wouldn't crush the buds too much but still leave too little air to cause damage(oops). Those foodsaver motors really condense buds, I mean smashes them. Anyone else notice that? They'll crush a coke can no problem. I just didn't want to smash the buds so I babied them and it probably cost me. I thought I could get away with a little air because they had already cured for months and were very dry when I sealed them in the bags.

Something I tried this year- A couple weeks before harvesting a skunk plant I started collecting the cardboard rollers off rolls of toilet paper. When my buds had cured for a month I divided it up in portions that would fit inside the rolls, put those portions in baggies, stuffed them inside the cardboard rollers, cut a couple holes in the baggies poking out of each side then placed those in foodsaver bags and sealed them shut. The reason I did that was to give the buds some support and keep them from being crushed but let the foodsaver still suck out air. Cutting the holes in the ends of the baggies let the air be sucked out of the baggies. I wanted to maintain the integrity of the buds but still have them air tight. I think that worked a lot better and when I open them I expect the buds to be healthy, not crushed. For an ounce or two that makes sense, if I were harvest pounds, it wouldn't.

I'm also not storing in the freezer or fridge but I like the idea a lot, just cannot because of my situation. I did however place the bags in a box with a lot of rice in it to help absorb any moisture. Hopefully that will help out this go round.

Shame though about the ST#3. I still have three seeds and past two years they germed really well so maybe this final three will give me a male and couple females- I really like the feel of it, gets rid of my ADHD and helps me concentrate like no other- talk about focus. Not sure if it's the blueberry in it or what. It's my first experience with anything SPG or BB so I know it's one of the two. I'm on the lookout for more ST#3 and eventually a more blueberry leaning strain. Good medicine for my brain.

Believe it or not ST or ST1.1 is still more available than the #3. I imagine even those are pretty good too huh?

Hello Virgin, you food will fresh 3 to 5 times longer than their regular life. Foodsaver keep your food fresh and flavorful!. It maintain the same freshness at home that you get with professionally vacuum-packaged items you purchase at the grocery store. Air gets in most other food storage containers and plastic bags even when they are sealed tightly. And, oxygen is one of the main reasons that food goes bad. It starts a chemical change, robbing food of its nutritional value, texture, color, flavor and overall quality.
