They showed something on Discovery Channel the other day...our Navy hunting Pirates down there...they caught them in the act but still had to let them go.

This is part of the videotape showing the Russian Navy commandos on the Somalian pirate ship. You may remember that the pirates captured a Russian oil tanker. The EuroUnion navy that patrols these waters could not interfere because there could be casualties.

All explanations are in Russian and, with a single exception when a wounded pirate tells something in English, all conversations are between the commandos - in Russian. Sorry if you don't understand Russian but the pictures speak for themselves.

The soldiers freed their compatriots, moved all the pirates to their own (pirate) ship, searched the pirate ship for weapons and explosives, and took seven Somalian pirates. Then they left the ship and exploded it with all remaining pirates on it.

The person who placed this part of the tape on YouTube claims that the tape is much longer and he may download all of it but no one believes that this file will remain on YouTube for long. After all, the commandos sunk the majority of the pirates without any court proceedings, lawyers etc. That is, they used the anti-piracy laws of the 18-th and the 19-th centuries: the captain of the rescuing ship has the right to decide what to do with the pirates. Usually, they were hanged.

It's been well over a year I started this thread...


Some countries have made "efficiency progress" by cuffing the Pirates to their boat and sinking it.... (not without roasting them first, see video below)


The US puts them in prison...and if you read the article it doesn't sound like it will be a vacation for them....


However personally I prefer the "cuff and sink" method.
It is more cost efficient.
And if you watch the whole video you will notice there is some "roasting" included!

I heard that corporations have made a toxic waste dump out of Somalia's waters. They've been taking advantage of Somalia not really having a government. The waters of Somolia have been over fished by anybody and everyone with no respect to their terroritory ... all of their local food in the ocean is stolen by Asian countries... who have superior ways of catching all the fish compared to the locals ways....

So this is just one of the many things other countries do to violate thats countries coastal waters... Painting them as pirates is the medias way of justifying keeping a bunch of Destroyers off the coast of Africa to protect oil passage ways... pay a toll fee if you want to use waters that belong to a nation ....use international waters if you dont...
