2010 Grow

Been sitting on the sidelines observing, learning and doing a little posting on others threads.

Thought I'd put up some verbiage and pics of this year's patch.

Started in March with 43 beans in Jiffy pots.

22 Trainwreck. 11 Lemon Skunk. 10 TW x Original Flo.

All gifted on me by a bloke named Spider across the pond.

Snow on the ground, beans in the dirt.......

10 days later, March 22, they need bigger quarters.

2 self-watering style window boxes seemed like a good idea at the time.

April 30th they get planted outside.

Farmer's almanac said the last frost should have been here and gone.

This is where I realized my mistake of planting them all together in the window boxes.

As I was digging them out and planting, I saw the huge root masses that had grown over the past 5 weeks or so and I had to slice through them to get them separated.

After a week in the ground, they were starting to get over the stress of the root fooking they got.

First 2 pics are the larger patch with 22 plants, last 2 are the smaller with 11.

Oops, I meant 32 in the large patch but that was going to change.

May 9 and 10 we get some freak weather front and temps go back down to freezing both nights.

No problem but the wind knocks down a tree over the smaller patch and falls on 5 of the 11 plants.

Only 1 is destroyed completely, I was able to salvage the others and some of the wind whipped in the larger patch with slints and tape.

Down from 43 to 42 at that point.

Another 3 weeks go by and they're showing sex. I find 9 males between the 2 patches.

Down to 33.

June 26, 16 weeks from seed, a few of them are topping 6 feet.

In the 2nd pic there's a Corona bottle at the base of the stem for some scale.

In the 3rd you can see one of the tree fall survivors with the remains of the chainsawed bitch in the background.

Thanks Marcellas and I am looking forward but with patience.

All the sativa lineage in my girls is going to be a long season. (Good Christmas, though)

And thanks to all you folks rep'ing in the shadows. Peace and good smoke, folks.

I've got a few months of bending/training ahead and it's already paying off.

As my old lady will verify, when it comes to women, dogs and bud, I know how to pick the beautiful/crazy/stubborn ones and wait them out.

I started LST about 3 weeks ago with most of these girls and they're still sending up shoots over the 6 ft mark.

A few untrained ones in the back have hit 8 ft.

I took 5 clones off of one of the Trainwrecks back on 6/6.

I gave 4 to a buddy of mine and potted one.

You've heard of the Topsy-Turvy for tomatoes?

Meet the Potsy-Pervy.......

Thanks guys, this is actually a 2 stage experiment.

Stage 1 is to see if the upside down grow produces as well as the 4 clones that went to my buddy.

Stage 2 is going to be a CS/feminized seed experiment.
With the upside down config, I figure it will be easy to pop her into the barn to force flowering when I want and I can loosely "bag" her so the nanners don't start spreading pollen everywhere.

Hey Spidey, ya leek munchin' sheep shagger, good to see ya here!!

It's all your doing ya know. Jamming beans ya got, 100% germination, 43 outta 43.

The girls are stretching their wings big time. Even with the LST I started a few weeks back, they're reaching 7, 8, 9 feet.

Did some more rope work to tame them and expose more bud sites.

They're all pre-flowering and starting to get a bit frosty.

Potsy-Pervy is no longer with us.

She started jamming her way towards the sun like you saw in the first pics of her.

Grew to about three times that size and then it rained heavy.

All the extra weight snapped her right at her woody little J-curve of a stem at the bottom of the planter.

A moment of silence.......
