How to sell to Coop's or dispensary's in SoCal

I'm in the San Diego area, does anyone know what it takes to sell into the local coop's? Besides being a card holding member, do you have to know someone or how is it done? What ranges of prices for left over bud would I expect to get, compared to their sell price?


I have about a pound extra from my recent grow, i'm trying to figure out the best(legal) way to get rid of it and be compensated for my time and materials.

You call them and ask what days they buy from vendors, then show up with a small jar with a few nugs on you. Leave the rest in your car. They will card you and verify, then you can meet with the purchaser. He'll ask about how its grown, strains, quality, etc, and ask how much you want per pound. Start high and haggle down. Once you agree on a sale price (never consignment!) go fetch the pound and they will pay you on the spot if they want it. It helps to be a member of the club before you try to sell to them though, so I'd do that first.

Oh, be prepared for harsh criticisms, the guys sometimes want to paw through the buds and handpick only the biggest ones, etc etc and none of it is fun. Be prepared to haggle for every penny and be prepared to WALK if you don't get what you want. Lots of clubs in the area.

Thanks Lazyman! That's exactly the kind of advice I was looking for. I am a well known member at one where they seem really cool and hook me up with a discount now and then. I just wanted to do some homework before I roll in there with a pound. Much appreciated!
