Yes my dog has broken 1 and helped me break one by tripping me and causing my to stumble and hit the bong.

Vaporizers are kool I might buy one but I like tasting the weed too.

Try removing the stem when your finished using it and dont store your bong with the stem in it.

Be Gentle and tedious

Well it seems the only way to make sure your bong dont break is by being carefull and tedious in putting the bong away every time I hooot. After a hit or two it becomes impossible.

I was thinking more the line of wood floor protectors such as these

http://www.hardwood-cleaner-resources.com/products.asp?cat=4

and adding it to the bottom of the bong to cushion it. Anyone try any homemade remedies in protecting your GLASS

Wait, so all of your bong have broken because of getting tipped or knocked over, and your asking us how to prevent them from breaking?

Sounds to me like you just need to be more careful. Take the ashcatcher off, those things have a knack for getting bumped on everything. Adding something ghetto rigged like your wood floor protector will do little to nothing unless you are constantly setting your bong down on stone or marble floors, which probably isnt the case since your ash catchers are breaking, and not your bongs.

Is their a way of strengthening the joints? Like some kind of epoxy

I usually put down my bongs on my glass printer desk in my room/office.

I read somewhere, that micro stress razors are formed in the glass every time it is bumped. Stress razors will turn into cracks when exposed to: bumps, heat, cold, and pressure. Seems to be true in winter time...

I definitely won't set my bongs on glass or any thing as hard or harder. I think the best thing to do to avoid breakage is to make a home for your bong and put it there as soon as you are done using it. I keep my smoking devices tucked away out of sight in a wooden cabinet. I have only broken one pipe, it hit the Taco Bell pavement.

You could try forming a metal coat hanger to work as a support between the bong and ash catcher. I would keep that epoxy far from that bong.

If you're breaking joints then invest in the right brand!

US Tubes are awesome. Check this link a scroll down a bit, their joints are thicker than the glass in most bongs...
http://www.headyglass.com/?p=50
http://www.bitfreakglass.com/access/artists/ustubes/

"Steezy, yes. Thin? no. Most tube companies save costs by using the same thickness glass, even in a bubble or beaker bottom. Whats the problem with that you ask? Well, when you BLOW the glass out, it thins the wall diameter, meaning that 5 or 7mm tube you bought most likley isnt TRUE 5mm or 7mm at the beaker/bubbler. Try 3-4mm

So what does US TUBES do different? they use TRUE 7mm blow beakers, with 5mm necks, true 7mm tubes, true 9mm tubes, and they all have a REAL wall thickness of 5,7, or 9mm. THATS QUALITY!

Did we mention the prices on these are awesome?"

I also have a toro and the joint on that one is very thick...

Feeling good is good enough.

Place your bong inside a bucket, surrounded by a towel.

Like a bong cradle so to speak.

Looks dorky but works.

Just get a nice, zipper or drawstring pouch... Both of my inline's and my beaker have there own bags. I can literally put them in the bags and toss them into the corner. no harm done. Plus a pile of pillow-like bags in the corner looks a lot better than a computer desk full of glass...

If your bong is breaking at the joints you are either... buying glass which is slightly misshapen.. OR the more likely cause is youre being too rough putting the bowl into the stem.. YOU DO NOT need to push down on your bowl what so ever to 'seal' it, just drop it in lightly and you have a perfect seal if its glass on glass. I've never had a stuck bowl in one of my stems, however I have a friend who every time he uses the bong sticks that bowl so hard in there its nearly impossible to get out without nearly breaking the glass

Bong Caddie?!

Bong Caddie?!

I got a caddyshack gopher driver caddy. U know those stupid things golfers put on the top of their woods? Well... if i take the bowl out the driver caddy makes a perfect bong caddy. To make it better the gopher has a little pocket where the bowl stays safe n snug.

What a concept huh? U could probably sell bong caddies. Any entrepreneurs... Contact me!

Here's what I'm talking about:
