A Diversion from my Norm

OK I'm back, from back surgery. I'm coming out of the narco haze and will be back in my garden today and tomorrow. I went up two days ago and everything was great. Probably going to harvest some old stock and put three into flower over the next week.

Sounds like a plan bro but you need rest!!!! Let your brother tend the garden while you heal.. Just make sure you have plenty of weed on hand ;)

Picture Update

Everything is going great except the air-layers failed. I took three cutting to keep things on schedule and will retry the air-layers later in the week. I'm sure the problem was lack of attention on my part due to the surgery (they were over watered in my absence).

Here is a group shot

Here are the six cuttings I took 31days ago

These will be transplanted to Hempy's and place into the Temple of Flower

The cuttings look great. I'm sorry about the air layering but I know with you there things will work this time around. How are you feeling?

The big overdue picture update

The big overdue picture update

Hello everyone, sorry for the lack of posting. My back surgery went well, but I've been down and out for a month or more. I'm just starting to feel up for gardening and posting. Veggy the Cab and The Temple of Flower were getting a little run down during my convalescence. While my guard was down, The Temple of Flower was attacked by the Borg. There was no webing present, however, every fan leaf in the temple, sans the Bubbler, had been assimilated. Veggy the Cab got sanitized and Ivana the Mother Plant got a doo and everyone got a neem treatment. The Temple of Flower residents got heavy defoliation and either a neem treatment, or a h20,h202,Coco Wet treatment for the girls less than a month out. The walls in The Temple of Flower were cleaned and neemed as well as the floors.

Here is the frog I found in Veggy the Cab

Here are the Twins who have 2 weeks to go until being moved to The Temple of Flower

Ok now lets move on to The Temple of Flower. All six sisters are exactly the same age. These three were in Veggy the Cab for four weeks. They have 19 days left until harvest.

The three remaining sisters were in Veggy the Cab for two additional weeks. As you can see the six week vegger is quite a bit bigger and two weeks farter out, obviously.

Here is the real shocker. These two plants are exactly the same age and have had the same nutrient program, as well as entering The Temple of Flower together looking like triplits. The only difference is Hempy vs the DWC Bubbler. I didn't bother to snap a pic of the second Hempy as it looks identical to the other Hempy.

Here is another shot of the Bubbler. Given the rediculous growth rate and the apparent ability to fend of the Borg better than the other sisters, I'll be equiping DWC Bubbler equipment exclusivily in Veggy the Cab and The Temple of Flower.

I'm looking to get back to posting at least every third day. I'm glad to be fealing a little better.

Not a shocker, but nice to see the photographic evidence confirming what we all know: DWC allows for explosive growth and simply works better.

Oh MY GOD!!!! Did you uproot that tree trunk from the forest and then add it to your garden ;) Dude it's HUGE!!

I'm glad you are back bro it's good to see you posting again. And that frog is nice! That has to be good karma. He could have had any canna op but he/she chose yours ;)

fatigues- Thanks for stopping by, I really wasn't too shocked, the mother plant has been in a 4gal Bubbler sence being transplanted as a seedling, and she performs.

ImaginaryFriend- Thanks man, I'll be sure to do just that.

SumDumGuy-Yah man, Ivana is a brick house I take probably 45% of her mass down every week to ten days. I'll put up a steroid root flex next time I drag her ass out of the water.

That frog was cool, He spoke to me and said that the sacred cannabis plant had decided that I was its friend, and had asked him to be my spirit guide on the path to healing. At least thats what I'm telling everyone.

Just got back from Seattle Hemp Fest, fabulous. I'll do a pic update in the nesxt day or so things are looking real good. Did a Borg extermination on Friday again. Hardly any Borg left at this point.

Just read this whole air-layer thread and I'm glad yer up and getting around once more friend. This air-layering is a technique I always felt might help put some rather large branches I'm always growing to a good use. Helps out with the plant numbers too as you say.

But, Rockwool -- what a concept . . .

Much, much easier to shape around a branch than that messy-ass spag. moss. Brilly-ant. You're a fine human being.

Gonna go try this right now and I'll post pics as appropriate.

Well guys and girls, I'm going to abandon this thread. With the surgery and birth of my new daughter I've just gotten way behind, and I apologize. I feel I would be better served to develop my replacement thread offline through a complete cycle, then post. As far as the grow room and cab go, I can proudly say that I've got it dialed in. I've dropped the perpetual in favor of harvesting an even canopy every two months. I felt like the added complications of having 15 different plants in different stages was a bit counterintuitive. The DWC plant from the post above yielded just over 6oz's dry. The last two hempies were another 4oz's combined.

Nice harvest.

Congrats on the addition to your family.

Add a link at the end of this thread when you're ready to start a new one?

Hey... you feeling okay these days?

To air layer you need to treat the stem just like a clone. 1 scarify by scraping the exterior of the stem, 2 coat with clonex etc, 3 cover with moss or rw, 4 keep it dark and wet...tinfoil wrapped around a 1.5 inch rw cube sliced down one side is perfect. 5.8ph pre soak the cubes. This is a cool method but you have to exclude light and keep yer cube damp. I like the low plant numbers idea....might have to play with this again...been about 20 years now..a link to the right way.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_1aYMvOyfKI

You are exactly right I got the air layer going when I tied some panda film scraps around them. The cling wrap still keeps the moisture in the best so I ended up using both in conjunction with each other. This worked ok for the outdoor season and only helped with plant #'s indoor. The only thing I didn't play with was the choice between white or black facing out. This winter I've placed my strain collection in vitro (tissue culture). I won't be publishing any of that outside of the advanced botany forum.
