10+month old bonsai.. not doing well..

I dont want to loose this girl.. She is over 10months old.. a clone of a female i got from seed..
she has been doing well until the last month or so when she started loosing fan leaves.. shes still in veg.. well i took 7 big cuts off her, and she showed preflowers all the sudden.. fans are continuing to fall.. now even small fans..
shes been in a 6"x6" pot since the beginning..
Im thinking maybe I should trim the roots and put in some new soil?

sounds like shes flowering/stressing from being rootbound. If you're gonna use 6" pots with mothers then you really need to be trimming roots every couple months at least.

My mother plants love my aerated worm compost tea. It seems to really bring them back when they are not looking so good from being rootbound in small containers.

never trimmed roots before, any advice?
i guess just cut a inch off all sides and put in fresh soil huh?

id cut about 2inch of pal with a nice sharp carving knife ive trimmed plants out of 12 inch pots down to fit in 5 inch pots no problems

do away with 1/2 the rootball.
place in fresh soil and water lightly! until she is ready to take big drinks.
