Majikoopa's Garden Grow

I know its probably a little deep into summer to be starting this, but I decided it was time to get my grow on. After living with a girl who wouldn't let me and hitting the road myself, its time to get back to my "roots" and start smoking on the cheap. Just got a new place, my official MMJ license came in the mail a few months ago, I've got some seeds I bred from my first grow and it's time to get my hands dirty!

My garden this year has six rows of beans, a giant pumpkin plant, lemon peppers, a row of Roma Tomatoes, basil, and a row of Lowryder (within my legal limit of course). Sorry for anybody who's seen my other postings... no tobacco this year! Too late in the season to do that kind of a grow any justice

I figure since its already the end of June, I need something that will grow fast and produce heavily for its height, and Lowryder has never treated me wrong yet. I've even got a little fence set up around the perimiter so any neighbors will not have as high of a chance to catch an accidental peek at my babies growing in the back.

I've prepared my soil with a bit of sheep's manure, topsoil, leftover organic potting soil from previous grows and I'm planning on adding some other amendments sometime next week... maybe bat guano. The plants are looking fabulous right now, especially the beans

Ganja is coming in nicely, but one of my plants has a little bit of a pest problem-- getting some little holes on the leaves D: I'll probably alleviate this issue with an organic pesticide derived from an N. Rustica tea from last year's tobacco grow. Since N. Rustica (aka mohawk tobacco) has 9 times the nicotine of regular tobacco, I've had some success spraying the tea on other garden plants to keep the bugs at bay. If it doesn't work, I've got a few spare plants vegging elsewhere that I can throw in to replace the one that's raised my concern.

Anyway, I know there are no pics yet, but I'm charging my camera tonight and I'll snap a few first thing in the morning to kick off this journal right. Keep tuned to see h0w the whole grow turns out, even the veggies! :D

So as promised I uploaded my pictures of the garden. Being a n00b I can only upload 4 at a time, so just expect a few more to come. Like I said, my ganja plants are little still, but after a week of life, no big deal right? My only concern is that some of my plants in the garden are being "skeletonized" by earwigs. I started the nicotine spray last night so and no additional holes were found in my babies, so we'll see how well this works. Anyway the pics are posted below so enjoy! :tiphat:

The Scourge of my Garden

The Scourge of my Garden

Last night, just after I started this grow diary, I went outside to check on my plants. Turns out they are being eaten alive by earwigs... terrible creatures. Before I planted my ganja in that section I thought it was perfect since there were no weeds in the area- no competition right? Wrong! The reason nothing is there is because the earwigs are eating everything. They've already turned some one of my bean plants into a skeleton D:

So this post is just to show everybody what I'm doing to fight back, and hopefully get some suggestions. Pictured below is my ganja plant that is in the worst shape. I've also uploaded a picture of a potent tobacco tea I boiled up last night in a Carlo Rossi bottle that I'm spraying on them nightly now. I also have a couple spare plants that I may put in a different part of the garden where the bugs aren't devouring everything, should worst come to worst.

Anyway suggestions are appreciated on the pest problem! For now all I have is my organic pesticide.

So I planted one of my spare potted plants int he garden to replace my fallen soldier last night. It seems to be quite happy. Luckily I learned from my poor placement and put this one in a blank spot on the other side of my garden. The N. Rustica tea spray seems to be working well, but only if i spray it every night just before the earwigs come out to feed. Somebody was nice enough to clue me in about neem oil, so I'm off to the grow shop to get some and try it out. Wish me luck!

Okay so Neem Oil did not help the earwig problem at all. In fact, after spraying my plants last night I came to find that now (just after 1 AM) my plants are even more covered in earwigs. I had two more bean plants become skeletonized and a ganja plant lost another leaf while the "reserve plant" I had put in the other side of the garden is showing some new signs of nibbling. I just didn't know what to do, so I've consulted Youtube... see attached link for what I've put all over my garden. Hopefully it works cause these little guys are sending out an all points bulletin to my garden.

DE is the fossilized remnants of prehistoric bugs - you top-dress w/ it and it's like a minefield of knives to crawling bugs

available as "concern" for instance (brand name)

DE also provides silica which strengthens plant cells making the plants tougher

Week 2 of Outdoor Grow

Week 2 of Outdoor Grow

Hey there all! So I managed to find a few things that help with the earwig problem. First of all the earwig traps did nothing to catch earwigs but what they DID do was attract a lot of ants, which threw up a few hills near the ganja plants. They've been attacking any earwigs that come near and leaving my babies alone. In exchange I've been feeding them a bit of olive oil and they love it.

Also, watering my garden heavily at sundown seems to help as well. Once the ground is soaked, the earwigs tend to find a dryer place to crawl. Also the neem oil is helping some since I'm just spraying it once every three days now its built up a little bit of a film on the leaves. Also it seems earwigs like baby plant leaves so now that things in the garden are starting to mature, they're eating all my unwanted weeds that pop up

I posted a few pics below, and you can probably tell but my biggest plant has an odd mutation where half of the leaf sets come in even numbers. Not very notable, but interesting considering its growing way healthier than the rest. Also I figured I'd throw a picture of my pumpkin plant in, as it just grew its first flower this week

Enjoy :D

Security Breech

Security Breech

So I woke up this morning to do my normal routine in the garden when I noticed my hose was disconnected and another one was in its place. I followed it to my neighbor's yard. Apparently I have two problems, my neighbor is siphoning water from me AND helping herself to my back yard. While this is a completely legal and Amendment 20 compliant for the state of Colorado, I still don't want hassle from law enforcement or to have to worry about my neighbor noticing.

I think I'm gonna uproot my plants and move them inside. Will that shock/ hurt them too badly? Should I leave my three legal plants outside and exercise my rights as a medical user??? Input?
