Selling house & medical garden?

So I have my outdoor 10 X 10 medical garden mixed in with my flower garden,it's looking great & the ladies are happy. The problem is my family & I have found a perfect new property with some land in a nice quiet location & were thinking of putting our house on the market to buy it & move out of the busier neighborhood we are in now.

What concerns should I have with my garden? Has anyone here done this? I am worried that the realtors will say rip it out or I am scared of strangers seeing it. We are going to do by appointment only, but I feel it is kind of sketchy. We can wait till after harvest to put the house on the market, but feel we will miss the window on this perfect property & the winter/fall is not the best time to list a house.

I have no where to move the plants to temporarily & they are all in the ground, the smaller clones are movable into pots but a few of the ladies are huge, already 4ft. bushes so I don't know about transplanting them now with the summer heat. I think I will have time to leave them all in the ground & pull the harvest before we move if I just leave them,it's just leaving them there when people are looking at our property that is the risky part.

Let me know what you guys think.

DO NOT LET ANYONE SEE YOUR GARDEN. RULE no1

Can be too much of a hassle. Start the sell after you harvest!!!

Can you cover it up with a make shift shed of some sort? Or.. like a fence and say its a sacred gazebo or something. Eh that is weird haha. That sucks.. Its not too bad trying to sell a property in the fall/winter, but ya, summer would probably be better. I also dont really know how easy it is to sell a house with bud growing in the back yard hehe. But I wouldn't let anyone see it...

If you want the new house, either chip the girls or give them to a friend. A house is much more important than a lb or two of OD....

Well if it's legal, and your intention is to move, then I say just leave it.
What's the worst thing that can happen?
Someone who saw it during a showing comes back and steals it?
It would be just as gone stolen as it would be if you chop it down now, but if you don't chop it, maybe it won't get stolen, and you can finish it.
Or maybe someone looking to buy your house also smokes, and is interested in growing, and would be impressed with your garden, might be just the hook to get them to buy.
I try to look at the positive possibilities along with the negative.
If it's legal, leave it up, who knows how long it will take to sell your house, and maybe the house you want will sell to someone else before your ready to buy it.

IMO, hold off on tearing it down for now.

How big of house, and what are you trying to get for it?

I might just be interested myself in a Cali house complete with pre planted garden.

Fuck,so we are going on the market!!!! Family decision,it wasn't all my say. We are going to do by appointment only with a loan approval, meaning that anyone who comes to a showing is approved for a $550,000 mortgage loan & is a serious buyer,so not just anyone can waltz in or even get an appointment,so I doubt any hoodlums would be there. I'm still a little sketched, but I guess what has to be done has to be done & I will have more space & privacy at the new place if it works out. I'm kinda worried though about digging them up because we may not even get a buyer in this market for the price we want & they can just sit in the ground.

I'm unsure if I should transplant into pots & that way if we move & the closing is 60 days I can take them with me. Most would transplant, they are only 3 ft. little bushes, but I have 2 monster ladies that are already 6X6 ,not sure how they would take a transplanting right now. I'm thinking of putting up some reed fence aorund them when we have a showing, not sure if that would draw more attention or not. The realtor was here the other day & she had no idea what the stuff was, hahaha.

Hold off. Harvest them before trying to sell the house.

what happens if someone who is not legal purchases the house and garden. You just sold drugs illegaly!

I would rip them up if you have no other choice, better than risking the saftey of your family.

I am in a similar situation, and I must say it is a difficult choice... I ended up being able to wait until we got our new place situated and just moved all the plants before we put this house on the market.

be careful

my grow wasnt outdoors - it was in a shed/motherinlaw/cottage (like a little house) in the back yard.

we put the house up for sale, and i was told by the realtor that because the backhouse wasnt permitted its not officially part of the sale and so prospective buyers wouldnt need to see it, so just keep it locked (we told the realtor it was used for storage by the way....) and no one will worry about it. all veiwings by appointment only.... with a nice new canfilter 75 and 8" can fan + muffler i thought i was good to go.

i got a knock on the front door late on a friday night (late as in 1130pm late) and it was 2 police officers "responding to a 911 call form the landline at the house"... we didnt use the landline at all - no phone connected to it in the 4 years at the place... ...this was when i had just finished revamping my room - new split unit ac, new tables, new lights (4k); i was gonna flip the 150+ plants the next night!!! we were able to prevent them from coming in (talked to them thru my security door like this GET ONE: http://www.homedepot.com/webapp/wcs...D30X-_-100572753&locStoreNum=6650&marketID=48) but some of the questions they asked trying to gain entry seemed to point that they knew what was going on. like 'what about the hosue in back?" when i said "there is no back house you cannot come in we didnt make the phone call" they had the most perplexed look on their faces and it seemed like they stayed that way forver but they left. and i tore down the freshly built/revamped shop and got rid of the 150+ 2ft multi branch bushes of sour dubble & valley og... and moved a few dyas later.

the last person to veiw the house before the police showed up was a guy who said he was a fireman who fixed/flipped homes. im pretty confident he noticed my grow shop somehow and made some of his police friends savvy.

legal or not that will still be a huge headache to have to deal with (proving your innocence & rights in court) if someone sees something they dont like.

good luck whatever you do and stay safe
and dont let them in without a warrant!

good luck with the hosue sale (its a tough market)

realtors are pushy bastards.... they will find it... talk to yours. ask them what they think... probably in your best interest, unless in flowering.. to give um away, or chop chop.. Your Realtor is like your lawyer... hes on your side. but many other agents once listed. will just pop up..

Could you cover it with screen? Like the same screen used on windows. Add some color inside the structure to look like some sort of fruit or flower, plants would still get sun and grow well, and from the back door or even closer, a person wont be able to tell unless they really decided to look inside in which case is just nosey. Just a thought I guess. Good luck on the grow and thee sale!

Finish up the harvest then sell the house, that's my vote anyway.

Good luck.
