Mold on Gro Pot.

I

IntenseSense

What up guys? I have a small op going right now to find some good genes. I am using c.a.p. gro pots. I watered them about 5 days ago and then set them right next to each other(no gaps between the pots). So today I go in to check things out and discover a white(or brownish) mold on some of the pots that were towards the middle. My humidity has been a little high lately(55-65rh) and I should of known better than to set them right on top of each other. Now that I have brought this upon my self what do you guys recomend I do to get rid of it?

Thanks in advance!

The pic with the yellow stuff on the sides is odd, haven't seen that particular color before. The whitish residue you see is excess salts, happens with all fabric pots. It washes off after you're done using them with some vinegar and hot water.

I read that on another post, but I'm not convinced its the salt. I want to take your word for it, it just seems too fuzzy not to be mold/fungus/mildew whatever. Do the excess salts start to fuzz up like that? Also I haven't used anything but ph'd water so far. Its just ocean forest mix'd with some light warrior.

so your saying I cant trust MY ph meter?

You can, as long as you calibrated it recently. The pool shop will probably just use their own pH pen. You can get those 4 and 7 pH solutions to calibrate it. If you cant get any of that, then you can do this:
Chop up cabbage, like a half cup of chopped cabbage. Put it into a cup, and pour boiling water over it until the cabbage is covered with water. Let that sit for about ten minutes and then strain out the cabbage but keep the water solution! This solution should have a pH of about 7.

I'm not too sure, but if its fuzzy, and youre only using ffof and water, then its probably mold stuff. If you soak the outside of the pot, will it soak in to the substrate? If not, just wash it off with a fungicide. If it will soak through, just use a sponge to dab some fungicide onto the side; probably should use an organic one.

Yeah, I just wiped off whatever it was. I know have the pots spaced out better, and a fan re-positioned to provide better air flow around the pots. Since the pots are made of fabric anything I put on the outside would make it through.

I have a Hanna PH pen, I have calibrated with 7.0 solution, but I need to get the 4.0 solution too.
