Well I have to disagree with you there on 2 facts for one if dreams come true in america Cannabis would be legal still and the law drafted by George Washington requiring all farmers to grow cannabism, and the second part I have to disagree with is america growing the best weed when for the past several years the concensus has been the best weed in the world comes from canada and to back this statement up all I have for proof is everytime I am in the states visiting my friend who get wicked bud themselves always ask me everytime I come to visit if I brought any Beasters with me.

Why would you want it legalized? Nobody would make a damn dollar. I'm all for medical, not for legalization. Beasters is the only shit i've seen come out of Canada.

Yeah, I am "pullin for the police" on this one! If you are a medical patient/care-giver with a valid doctors recommendation, acting within the context of the law, not harming the environment, and not threatening those around you, then there is no problem.. but if you're gonna trespass, carry guns, hurt the environment, and cary outdated recommendations, then you deserve to get busted!!

And don't worry, this is just a drop in the bucket.. there's plenty of swag to go around.

btw - if you think the $30K/yr on average profit I make is getting rich then you obviously don't live in CA..

As i said in my previous post. Here's the quote for you my friend. Read it slowly. Now read the bold print twice, so maybe this time you'll understand.

BINGO!!!!!!!!!!!

There's not one person that will convince me that these guys deserve felony drug convictions, for growing a plant.

Maybe the trespassing charge, and the other things they did which were actually wrong.

But if im reading your post right because i have no license im "not acting within the context of the law. So i deserve to go to jail right?

So do you deserve to go to jail for those time you smoked before you got your license? You owe those police you pulling for some days. Mr stand up citizen.

Like i said if we believe what the media printed(cause they always get it right) those guys did break some laws. But growing shouldnt be one of them.

The real problem is some people (not all in this thread) but some people have with these guys is. They are undercutting your greedy asses. You got this mediocre weed with a name that you wanna charge out the ass for. And these guys are growing an ok product and actually selling it at a price that people can afford.

It all boils down to the same thing. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$

Legal weed only means free weed to the person who wants to take the time to grow it for himself but in a system of legal cannabis sales to adults of course there will be a run of the mill potency like alcohol has so if alcohol is sold at a potency of nearly 25% of the maximum strength it can be which of course is 200 proof or 100% alcohol that would mean the average bud for sale at an approved retailer would be around 10% considering there are strains reported by the govt that tested at 40% thc content as compared to the other cannabinoids, now this doesnt look good at first till you consider that at the liquor stores there are also more unique brandsof alcohol with percentages 150 proof and higher so this goes to show that there will be strains available that are far more potent for recreational use but for a higher cost.

So at this point you would think I have painted a doom and gloom outcome to the legalization of cannabis where it the majority of the bud around decent but its not the best but at the same time the price will no longer be determined by risk, danger ,mark ups by middle men and mark ups due to shipment loss due to busts causing the dealers to mark up there prices to recover there loss.

But what we will have is a variety of comercial buds sold at a price based on cost of production ,marketing and shipping like any other product that is legal to purchase in a capitalist society and of course there will be varying levels of quality and of course the price will increase because of quality but I truly think the days of top shelf weed costing $400+ are numbered and what will happen is those who dont want to pay for top notch weed can just learn to grow there own or buy a lower quality weed for a lower price . But what I feel will be the best part of legalization will be the fact that the big cartels will no longer be able to use a harmless plant that is actually a benefit to mankind and turning it into a cash cow to fund there violence and quest for power, and I as a parent will no longer have to worry that my kid can get pot anytime he has $10 in his pocket wich may sound hipocritical but until he is 19 which is the legal age to consume alcohol in canada he knows my rule is he also doesnt smoke pot without risking getting his ass kicked.

But all in all I really feel that there are 2 types of people who dont want cannabis legalized the first being politicians who can use a tough on drugs campaign to get elected and the second type are the Cartel members, terrorists and any other member of organized crime who's pocket will be lightened by legalization.

Especially when legalization would mean they could open companies producing cannabis legally and still make good money from there skill and knowledge but while it is illegal it is a agricultural product worth $2000 per lb compared to the rest of the argricultural products that very few sell for $2000 per ton. So in my opinion anyone who grows pot just for there own use or those who sell it to there friends for no profit whatsoever they want to see it legalized but the others who only care how much money they can make will always want it illegal.

Interesting how in all cases, plant numbers were found to be over the legal limit.

Didn't the courts just determine that the "legal limit" is now whatever is reasonable?

cateros: nice to meet someone with similar viewpoints! legalize it! VERY good analysis

however you can't compare the price of commercial herb to that of corn and hay. Compare it to other herbs for example rosemary I would think sells for more than 2g per ton. Especially organic! In my opinion the equilibrium price has already been set in the medical and black markets. There should be little change of price compared to the medical weed and will indeed be much lower than the black market.

Also remember, just because its legal doesn't mean there aren't people still trying to profit off high school and middle school kids on the black market. Its also fairly ignorant to think your kid really wont smoke weed till 19, if he wants to smoke. I know hes your precious son, but seriously?! Anyone I know who smokes weed now has done it since at least high school. Except ONE person who went party hard in college, and all that repressed good times were indulged and he didn't study so well.

And to everyone I agree these growers were dumb dumb dumb. Hired some guy off the street to watch his crop? Hahah, yeahhhhhhhh riiiiighttt theres some shady street people in rosa

well I have some reading to do I admit so forgive me if I am too hasty, but:
the eradicators should be eradicated, not the plants!
What they do to the plants should be done to them.
just a thought.

I found a guerilla grow out on a trail by a local church, was run by Mexicans i could tell by the packaged food and the irrigation system was all tagged in Spanish. Its terrible, this was at least a 100 plant operation

just happy that my area is not so 'famous' for it's cultivation.
NO ONE should have weapons around their grow. Having a weapon while growing is just plain ignorant! LE will use current law to exponentially increase penalties for possession of firearms while committing a felony. Then LE will turn around and say that growers are violent and dangerous because they were in possession while growing!!!
Some small minded people who wish to see our "weed" eradicated, will then also be programmed to dislike firearms.
Neither of these two things cause violence of themselves, nor do they when combined. It is the individuals' use of these items that causes problems.
No guns? No problem. No weed? BIG PROBLEM!

I don't like to play "devil's advocate", but how many people in these remote parts carry guns to protect themselves from predators like bears? And if regular people carry them, is it that unreasonable that some growers may choose to protect themselves also? Yes the gangs and big destructive grows done by Mexican (gangs the right word?) are not right, but the real enemy is the enemy of the cannabis. I am not suggesting armed revolution, there is a big difference between having feelings almost all of us have from time to time if you are honest about it, and acting on those feelings. I do not advocate violence. But we can solve problems better if we understand them instead of closing our minds.

It's insanity in the woods here in NoCal. You fear for your life if you have to walk a forest trail, you might be machine-gunned to death. And the destruction of our natural resources to make a few bucks is so colonial, so 17th century. Way to go greedy growers! You give us all a really bad name.

Hi im brian abbie the guy mentiond in the article. and just to let everybody know we where on our property with scripts. the law says that a mature plant is a budding plant and the cops twisted it to fit there couse and was like i think a mature plant is a female..we where way under the limit for the scripts we had and we commited no crime so when this is all said and done i hope people see how corrupt our law inforcement is and how theyare still bullying medical patients. and they mixed usin with these other growers to make our 48 plants look like these guys with thousands thats just dumb.
