What's new

A Diversion from my Norm

Its definitely going to be a sweet setup!

That depends on how one defines a sweet setup. I won't be buying anything that is not the best economic value. The lights will be value priced 600watt hps magnetic ballast with 36"parabolic reflectors, no air cooling hardware. I use the cheap bulbs. A/C will be the 5200btu $100 Walmart window unit at best. The heater is an oscillating unit from the hardware store maybe $35. I'll spend $50each on good thermostats from the hydro store. Ventilation and odor control will be a 4" inline fan and a carbon filter. Air movement will be an 3speed oscillating fan.

The room will be insulated, sealed (no unintended light or air) and reflective. It will be easy to keep sanitized. The big things for me are plenty of light and a sanitary controlled environment. No fancy hydro system either, I'll be going with Hempy Buckets I already own and mixing in single DWC units over time.

So this room will be sweet economically while still being sweet performance wise.

Quick pic update before I go to the hydro store for some equipment. As you can see growth rate is good to go. The air-layers are looking great and growing too boot. If they haven't died or gone droopy yet they will probably root eventually.

I did the same when setting up my grow room thrifty vs. expensive there really no big difference on how well the plants turn out. I use cheap bulbs, ballast, ect.. and always get nice buds. Sounds like ur setup is a nice upgrade for Ivana and freinds:tiphat:

Most equipment is like clothing.. We want the latest fashions. But when it comes down to it them old jeans are tried and true. Good luck and where's the hot sauce for the popcorn.

Exactly, these supply companies are pushing the hype. The nutrient companies do the same as well. This upgrade should double my production if I stay out of the way. Thanks for affirming my thrifty tendencies, guys.

Hey Nug, you're welcome and thanks for stopping by. There is a lot of information on air-layering on the internet. I'm think the advantages are plenty if I can dial my application in.

Flower Room Update

Flower Room Update

Just got done with the Flower Room. Aside from plant shelving ,some aluminum tape and Spray Foam its all done. I got my flowering plants all put to bed without too much damage. I took some pics but I'm way too tired to post them until tomorrow. From here on out the Flower Room will be known as the Temple of Flower.

Temple of Flower

Temple of Flower

This was the only halfway decent picture of the new flower room. After two days of cool running and a little clean up those girls look a lot better. My old flower room was not climate controlled enough and the plants were dealing with temperature stress. Once I get the build 100%, bench and seam taping, I'm sure I'll share more.

Ivan likes to grow up into the lights, time for a trim.

Post trim.

I've taken the bucket out from under the larger babies, and moved them to the front.

The air-layers were watered with 5ml of 1/8 strength nutrient solution. They also look great.

Looking good.

Thanks ImaginaryFriend.

Quick update, Everything is going real good. The stuff in the flower room is moving along. The AK's are all exploding in veg. The Air-layers are doing great. I have everything set for my bro to take care of for a few days, while I'm off having back surgery. As soon as I'm on my feet I'll post a full picture update.
