Hobbies Sub Forum Idea

Skip & IC Mag Admins -

Would it be possible to open up a subforum in the hobbies area for Computers? I know there is a lot of tech discussion in the security forum but it seems that security is not only about online security.

I think it would be beneficial to all of us users who like to discuss tech and computers.

I understand your desire and reasoning. However there are other issues to consider.

First, we are keeping the site's focus on cannabis, so the more we stray from that, the more we lose focus on what brings us here in the first place and unites us.

Other issues include attracting people into the site via search engines, who see something innocuous in the computer forum and sign up for an account, so they can reply to a post. Then they discover later (much to their dismay), that this site isn't about computers, but about cannabis, and then ask to have their account deleted.

Fortunately, it wouldn't be as contentious as a political forum would be, and I guess we all have computers or we wouldn't be here. And it IS a huge, popular topic so it's not like we'd top the search engines for computer terms...

Although, if you notice, Google updates this site by the minute (if not more often)... I once searched on keywords in a post I just made and sure enough Google had indexed my post within 23 seconds...

Anyway I'm sure there's a buncha nerds on here who just wanna talk about 'puters all day... So, OK!

Just don't ask me anything about 'em!

HAHA! I hadnt really thought of the google search results aspect of my request. I can see why you may not want to do something along those lines but I do appreciate the creation of the sub-forum!
