Well, it's been a bit since I've posted... They've continued to grow and are getting pretty tall now. I'm hoping they're about done stretching. I put them into Flower on June 1st.
.....
Caz

Indicas usually stretch for about three weeks and sativas can keep growing for four weeks or more. I'd say you have another week or two of fast growth. Hope you have room!

First off, my sincere apologies for not updating in almost a month.
The sewer/drain problem we had was unbelievable, and due to the carelessness of some of the people involved, included visits from the local Internet provider, three electricians, and another plumbing company. The girls are all doing well, I'm about 3 weeks from harvesting. One of the White Widows went absolutely APE SHIT and is WAY larger than any other plant as you'll see in the pics.
My hood is raised as high as it will go.

For anyone planning on doing a similar setup, DON'T try to run 12 plants in an area like this. It'S WAY too overcrowded.
I didn't lollipop, or in any way trim the ladies up, I wanted to get a baseline for my first crop. It's SO dense in there. When I relocate this setup, I'll shut off every other valve, and run 6 buckets, with two 1K hoods, and NO light mover.

I just bumped my nutes and added 60g of Powdered Kool Bloom. This will be my last tweek to the nutes. In a week or so, I'll be draining the system and refilling with fresh RO water to let the flushing begin.

I have to say, this setup is as low maintenance as anything I could foresee... I peek in on them once a day, keep my eyes open for webs or pests, and every couple of weeks, toss a little bit of Nutes in the rez, and that's it. Next go around, I'm planning on keeping things trimmed up so they don't go nuts, and also adding tomato cages to I have something to tie branches too. Right now, it's about as ghetto as it gets, but with the emergency move and all, I'm just happy I didn't lose plants or get hermies (No balls found so far!)

Anyway, here are the latest pics, as of 30 minutes ago.

man it really sounds like you had some DRAMA with this grow!!!!!!!! I'm glad to see that you pulled through. I'm planing on a very similar setup in a 7'x12'x11' room. i have learned so much from your post thanks a lot Casual

I'm glad I could help Oahi!
Yea, l had a lot of drama with the sewer issue and all the damage the plumber caused.
Do yourself a favor though, and don't pack the plants in. I'd leave AT LEAST 15-20 inches between them.

I can't see from the pictures how many lights you are using.
But since you have a dozen of plants, I think there should be plenty.
So I'm wondering, you are going to dissipate all those heat off with just a fan?

I'm actually only running one 1K hood on a 6ft lightmover.
This was my first grow, and the last time I'll use a light mover. Pretty much under any circumstance, you'll be better off with more lights than using a mover.
Next round I'll be doing 6 plants with two 1K hoods.
I do not have an AC unit in the room, just what the house AC blows in there. The heat is vented out into another room of the house. It's never over about 83-84f in there, Humidity is a non issue due to AC air being pumped in, and the exhaust fan pulling the air out of the room. Next run, I'll be using a spare bedroom instead of the small room I started in. That should grant me even a bit more space than I have right now, and keep it out of the main living area of the house.
I do need to put one more fan in the room, now that everything is so dense, the air doesn't pass through any longer. The airflow doesn't seem to be as big of an issue because of the low humidity.

hey Caz i got a few questions about your light mover

1 how many Rpm is the motor how long does it take to move from one end to another?
2. other then the heat issues do you think you would have gotten better results ruining an open lamp or a different style reflector on the lamp?
3. where you able to get a full pass with the lamp over the last bucket?
4. I'm plan on running a 365w led with 1 400w HPS on each side of the LED hoping to get a full pass of the end 400w and at least half a pass of the LED on my last and first bucket trying to get full spectrum pass over each bucket

i know that this is a totally different set the yours but i thought i would pick your brain a little and see what your thoughts are on my set up if you dont want to respond to this on your post could you please PM me and let me know what you think

Good to see you've gotten over the plumbing problems, caz. Those sativas really shot up! Somehow the bud sites look a little underdeveloped to begin flushing. Looking at the leaves, I see a slight tip burn and droop. Perhaps 2.0 EC was too strong considering your lighting. Do you have time to feed a little longer perhaps at lower EC? That would give the top buds more time to fatten up before you start flushing.

Snap Pete... I didn't see this post until today... It's been 11 days since you posted that, and they've continued on until this weekend when I'll start flushing.

All the plants that were healthy clones when i put them into the system are amazing!! The runts I had in didn't do as well, as I couldn't really baby them with lower dosed nutes without hampering the healthy ones. Next go around, I'll get all the clones as close as possible to each other in size and health. I'm going to remove 4 buckets for the next round, so there will be about 24" between plants, and will have 2 lights and NO light mover. I believe the EC was too high. I'll recalibrate my trimeter before the next grow, but at this point, I've gotta start flushing. I'm at 8 week with a 9 week strain and haven't started flushing yet. I'm kicking the shit out of myself now for forgetting to install the drains in the buckets. I'm going to have to snake a hose down into each bucket, one at a time and pump the water out of them. I've got a 55 gallon water drum that I'll be hooking up on a float valve to my RO system this afternoon. I figure it'll take a day to fill, so I'll be able to drain and refill on Saturday. Planning on 1 week of flushing. I think that'll be fine, but we'll see.

I'm still learning how much to add as far as Nutes and such, and overdid it on this round. My EC was about 2.4 and the plants seemed to explode... when the EC dropped to 2.08, and the pH was 6.3, I added nutes again and brought the EC to 2.36 and pH to 5.6... EC has been steadily falling over the past couple of weeks and pH has been rising, but it's still under 6.0
I have a suspicion that I didn't calibrate the meter properly the first time, which is why that EC being so high didn't seem to hurt much.
Overall, to this point, I'm very pleased with how this grow went. I've learned a LOT, and the advice I've received from ICM has been invaluable! A BIG kudos to BigToke for his How-To, it was the inspiration for me to try something this major my first go around.
Petemoss, I very much appreciate the time you've taken to help me out and your advice has been spot on!

No pics today, but 55 gallon fresh water drum is plumbed into the RO system and is filling. I'm thinking once this round is harvested, when I move things back into a bedroom, I'll put the 55g drum in the 'storage' room next to the bedroom so I don't lose valuable space in the grow room. Also going to turn the 'storage' room into a mommy room. I picked up a small 2-site setup from Aerocustom.com. It has two 6" netpots.
I put two AH#3 clones in it and the growth of these things is unreal. They're huge. They're simply too large for my 2x3x5 tent now, so making the 'storage' room into a mommy room seems to make sense. It'll give me plenty of room for a few different moms, and a few separate sets of cloning trays.
I'm sold on BigTokes method using the Oasis cubes. Has 100% root. I tried a home made aerocloner and I think it's just more effort than it's worth.

Pete, for the record, you're right about the very tips being burnt and the leaves drooping a bit. Next go around I'll be more conservative adding nutes and creep up on my final numbers instead of using a SWAG (Scientific Wild Ass Guess!)
