^thats funny i bought some GDP and PK clones last year haha....they came in rockwool cubes too...we met the dude in front of the club on san pablo in berkeley..those things came out fire!
hey greenmopho, I love the tube system, but I would classify it as nft, (nutrient film technique), not rdwc. anyways take care bro.
Speechless. Nonetheless you had the nicest setup EVER!
smart move bro. i ride solo. the only time i get to talk about growing is on here and when i go to dispensaries and collectives and meet cool people.
Nah, if you saw how we intended to run it, it was high pressure with a strong current, constant flow. Almost like an Undercurrent system. Each root mass had a few inches of moving water it would sit in.
I know how tube systems work, it's constant FLOW. even if you used net pots with expanded clay, instead of rock wool, it would still be nft. No matter what sized operation. Rockwool and dwc really dont mix. and dwc TECHNICALLY is over a foot deep of water for the roots, less than a foot is swc. I just think labeling the tube system as rdwc is not very accurate and that nft is more accurate of a title for the tube system. But it is all hydro, so I still love it. Talk to you soon!
Nutrient Film Technique or NFT is a hydroponic technique whereby a very shallow stream of water containing all the dissolved nutrients required for plant growth is recirculated past the bare roots of plants in a watertight gully, also known as channels. Ideally, the depth of the recirculating stream should be very shallow, little more than a film of water, hence the name 'nutrient film'.
