high guys ,

my volcano is filling my bags slower then 1.5 years ago when i first bought it(my best buy ever)

anywho

i already opened the damn thing and blew air on it to take the dust off , but for the rest there was not much i could do or clean to solve it without breaking the thing

now would ordering a new air filter be a solution? could that be the prob , my air filter is a bit yellow and i have no spare left

The volcano still works well , only it is about 10-15% slower then in the beginning with the filling

now i have to say this thing is used intensively:D and fell 2 times already

i would buy a new one in an instant but why spend money when you can fix it

If the fan sounds OK, then yes change the filter. Otherwise the fan might have gone.
Also make sure the vents at the base of the unit are free from dust and debris

Hope this helps.

i didn't even know the Volcanos had an air filter, good to know! i dunno what the guts look like inside but perhaps if your is really drawing slowly, you could replace the fan/blower with a new one? i'm assuming it's a separate item from the heating element.

i love my Volcano, too! definitely the best prop215 TRADE i've ever made! (1.5oz and came with the hard case, too!)

how fast are they supposed to fill up anyways? i use a large turkey bag(4 gallons?) and it takes about a minute to fill up.

Same is happening with my Volcano after a few years. The fan does make a different sound, like a lower, more rumbling noise and the bag fills up slower. I've actually had it switch from the fast filling to the slow filling sound mid-bag, like it's changing gears, so think it needs a service.

Anyone opened up a Volcano to repair it?

EDIT: Just found a video on Youtube with what sounds like a fix to my\our problem. Seems like the air-tubes from the fan can collapse, reducing the air-flow. You need to open up the volcano to fix it and the guy in the video suggest using a ring-pull from a can, but you might be able to find something a little better. Can i link to youtube? youtube.com/watch?v=FQoZ_45QVfc - now just need to figure out how to open the thing without damaging it.

Same problem here but I have an older model. I think if it gets any worse I'll just drill a hole in the back and use an air-pump.

If you have $80 bucks, send it into storz and bickel and they will repair it. I've had to send in two that stopped heating up after they were dropped. S and B fixed it and sent it back for $80 bucks both times. Takes about a week - you can find the address online. Shipping it from UPS of Fedex costs like $14 bucks.

If you want to fix it, you can try to see if it is the kinked tube. I just didn't mess around with mine because it was a heat issue. I actually opened the first one and messed around to get it to work for a few months, but had to eventually send it in.
