just vote yes in november so people can stop going to prison for growing house plants.

Does anybody have some figures showing just how much income the cartels would lose if weed was legalized in America?

I've heard over half but I've never seen any facts on it, just stuff I've heard from my friends.

I would think that if we could legalize it and cut off over half of the drug cartels' cash flow then we would have a much better shot at winning the "war on drugs." Before I get flamed, I know the WoD is unwinnable, but if we can use this fact to show the armchair drug warriors that we would be moving in the right direction I think this could be a good tactic when talking to the die hard WoD supporters about legalization...

Even if is only 10 percent it would be worth it because Americas can stop going to prison dammit.

75% of the cartels incomes are from marijuana; CA is probably 15% of their mj market.

The cartels are just as well if not better funded than a lot of large corporations. Most likely they aren't going to roll over and die, they will adapt.

The only thing that makes me sad about this legalization movement is that it will probably be followed swiftly by a coke epidemic. The cartels are simply going to switch products, and instead of 50lb bags of marijuana being walked across the border it will be 50lb bags of cocaine. The price will drop, and sadly allow even more people to afford it.

Anyone have thoughts on this? I really hope I turn out to be wrong but we'll see I guess.

this is what I have to say about voting no on the cali bill

Big corporation cant touch 215. It was voted in by the people.

anyone voting no on this bill still at this point is either

A. a sociopath
B. Greedy as Hell
C. huffs spray paint or glue
D. Is Just Plain stupid due to choice to ignore education, cause the bill is right there for anyone to read.
E. Is ignorant and thinks pot is the devil
F. Or is just an ass hole

I can keep going.

So if you cant swallow your pride to vote yes you might end up swallowing your pride along with a mouth full of warm fresh jizz, from your cell mate, t-bone's, huge, throbbing, covered in your own shit (cause it was just in your ass) cock.

have fun with that. I wish that upon no one which is why I would vote yes for this bill.

you are very wrong. there isn't enough coke. acres of coca only produce a couple kilos. The volume will never be the same.

also new kids are scared of coke. also, coke prices are rising right now due to increased demand and lowered supply.

supply might increase a smidge but why move coke when you can move pot that is legal, by the ton. these folks are practical not dare devils. They will grown more pot. my hope is they go the way of morocco and start producing TONS of hash.

I don't see a problem with it being legalized.

Keep thousands out of prison. That right there is a huge reason to legalize it.
Decrease in violence attributed to the illegality of it.
Less state and government spending housing prisoners that are imprisoned for non violent mj possession/cultivation.
Police can stop focusing on mj and start cracking down on hard drugs.
Less tax money spent on police focusing on mj.
Less money going out of the country to drug cartels. More money staying in the country in the form on tax revenue.

If it's making money then the government or some agency is always going to have a hand in it. Bottom line.

If you are mass producing ANYTHING that will be consumed by the general public there will always be guidelines. Bottom line.

If you grow pot and sell dime bags to your friends then legalization will only benefit you.

If you grow pounds and sell bulk product that reach thousands. Then I see no reason why you wouldn't have to go through hoops. Think about it.

Your right government is corrupt. They probably f*ck us every chance they get. But if you don't want legalization because it will make your life harder because of the new rules. Then you are just selfish.

The pros outweigh the cons so much that debate is pointless.

I`m a marijuana user and I`m voting no.This bill is pure bunk.It does not do one thing to premote marijuana rights and will set the movement back years! I got stuff to do today but will come back later and explain. Jack Herer was against this bill as is Dennis Paron (the writer of prop 215) ! It is truely flawed.

The HUGE problem with the bill not mentioning that Denis Peron and Jack Herer were BOTH against it is that it doesn't protect us from the FEDS!!!!! I hear all this talk about keeping people out of prison but that's actually where A LOT will end up after this bill gets passed(which I'm voting NO!!!) hopefully not! Also this bill is OPEN SEASON on folks under 21!!! So now instead of just getting a fine for a joint it's hard jail time and fuck me if you are caught in the circle of a minor getting their hands on your crop YOU GO TO PRISON!!!! Sounds like a bunch of new ways to imprison our society and if you can't see this please WAKE THE FUCK UP!! :tiphat:

It is absurd on it's face to believe that the cartels have a vast, unexploited customer base which they will start to access if they can't sell pot for a profit. Why the hell wouldn't they do it now? Coke is easier to smuggle and has a better profit margin. It is simply nonsense as well that there is any significant number of degenerate addicts that are sober as judges just waiting for legalization to debauch themselves. Degenerate addicts care nothing about the law. The best the law does is to turn them into alcoholics or glue sniffers. Anyway, google "rat park"+heroin to see what happens to a bunch of rats offered all the heroin their little hearts could desire and an environment just perfect for rat happiness. Less than 2% of the rats became heroin addicts. But still people think that all you have to do is offer a substance to someone and they're going to choose to abuse and fuck up their lives totally. Nothing could be further from the truth.

It really saddens me to see potheads in bed with Calvina Fay proselytizing against TC2010. I have my fingers crossed hoping that these are lazy dolts that won't show up and vote no to TC2010. If you consume cannabis and are against TC2010, shame on you. If you'd rather maintain the status quo than to progress toward freedom you are a blistering idiot. How about some more know nothing railing against the legal phrase 'without limitation'? Lots of you ignorati seem to think that means something other than it does.

The HUGE problem with the bill ...it is that it doesn't protect us from the FEDS!!!!! ...

It is called a STATE law not a federal law, because it only involves the State of California NOT the USA.

I think this will be a boon to small (plants<100) farmers. Because the DEA(Feds) will not have/use the resources to go after the thousands of small scale growers who will pop up to supply the retailers. They already exists under the cover of being "medical suppliers" of MJ to the dispensiaries.

Open season to folks under 21.. Don't sell pot to kids in the first place. It isn't any different than buying alcohol for minors..

It's a state law of course it isn't going to change the way the government thinks, but once enough states change there laws and millions of people are 'legally' growing there own mj then the feds will change there laws. Maybe not totally legal, there will still be instances in which they will want to step in.

indeed, DEA will stay in business regardless of whatever state law is passed
but that's not much of a reason to not advance state law
this is where the envelope will be stretched
DEA is already up to their eyeballs in big busts, so the little grower should have nothing but benefit from this

Hmmm. I'd pretty much put my education up against yours. I laid out my reasons for not liking this bill back when I started this thread. Your reply to me was that I called you"stupid", which I never did.

Your's is not much of an answer. When I clearly set forth my thoughts on this bill, you neither countered or set forth your reasoning.

So please, don't throw out other's education (or your lack thereof) as any well thought out comment on the subject.

No one wants people to go to jail. WTF kind of simpleton answer is that?
